It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Elaine (Young) Eckert on Saturday, April 6, 2024. Just before midnight this wonderful lady peacefully departed from her family on earth to be reunited with her family in heaven.
Mary was preceded in death by two of her sisters, Katie and Norma along with her only brother, Lester, mother and father, Henry and Geraldine Young and her beloved husband, Larry Eckert. They were united in marriage on October 27, 1978 in Hopkins, Missouri.
Mary is survived by her sisters, Wanda (Young) South and Henrietta (Young) Mendes as well as her two sons, Josh Tulley and Jesse Eckert. Mary has also been blessed with two grandsons, Tynan and Orion Tulley by Josh and Jessica Tulley.
In addition to being a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Mary had also been a Literacy Coordinator for A.B.E. (Adult Basic Education), the Mayor of the City of Parnell, Missouri and her proudest achievement was being a LPN. She was also well known for her love and compassion towards animals. Mary will be missed by all those who’s lives she touched.
Services 11 am Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Price Funeral Home. Burial will be held at the Athelstan Cemetery, Athelstan, Iowa. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
