Bentley Frisch Wins Pole Vault, Brock Healy Wins Triple Jump for Junior High Tiger Boys; Jensen Davis, Hali Smith Win for Shamrocks

Bentley Frisch took a big leap forward in the Pole Vault for Worth County, while Brock Healy won the Triple Jump for the Junior High Tiger boys at King City Thursday. The girls didn’t get any firsts, but they had several people place. For North Harrison, they got firsts from Hali Smith and Jensen Davis to highlight their day.

For the girls, Stanberry ran away with the meet with 133 points. Princeton had 74, Worth County 56, East Atchison 53, Buchanan County Middle School 50.50, King City 44, North Harrison 43, Albany 43, Platte Valley 33.5, Union Star 26, Nodaway Valley 9, North Andrew 7, Stewartsville/Osborn 5, Braymer 1, and Pattonsburg 1.

The boys was much closer. Stanberry had 81, North Andrew 70, King City 64, Princeton 60, Worth County 53, Nodaway Valley 49.50, Platte Valley 39.50, Braymer 37, East Atchison 33, Buchanan County Middle School 31, North Harrison 28, Albany 14, Union Star 14, Pattonsburg 6, and Stewartsville/Osborn 5.

For the girls, Brooklyn Smith was second in the 100 with a time of 14.64. Smith was third in the 400 with a time of 1:09.44. Laura Hansen got a personal best, knocking 14 seconds off her time and getting a time of 1:33.45.

The Tigers placed two in the 100 Hurdles. Audrey Runde was sixth with a time of 21.05, while Brianna Riley was seventh with a time of 21.13.

All three relay teams placed. The 4x100 team was third with a time of 59 seconds. The 4x200 team was fifth with a time of 2:05.96. The 4x400 team was sixth with a time of 5:30.67.

Paige Chaney tried her hand at the High Jump and was sixth with a height of 1.20 meters. Megan Tracy matched a personal best in the Pole Vault and was second with a height of 2 meters. 

Brooklyn Smith, only a sixth grader, got her third medal in the Long Jump with a third place finish of 4.16 meters. 

The Tigers placed two in the Triple Jump. Audrey Runde was fifth with a jump of 7.97 meters. Megan Tracy was sixth with a jump of 7.94 meters.

Bree Ray got a personal best in the Shot Put with a throw of 6.95 meters. Her previous best was 6.31 last year.

For the boys, Jordan Dannar was sixth in the 200 with a time of 28.89. Mason Hiatt was fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:07.55. 

In the 100 Hurdles, Bentley Frisch knocked three seconds off his time from last year and finished sixth with a time of 20.16. Brock Healy was seventh with a time of 20.29. 

The 4x100 team was fifth with a time of 55.54.

Bentley Frisch got a personal best in the Pole Vault and won with a height of 2.75 meters. His best height last year was 2.15. Brock Healy was sixth with a height of 2.15 meters.

Maverick Cox was second in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.85 meters. Brock Healy won the Triple Jump and ran away with it with a jump of 10.40 meters. Bentley Frisch tried his hand at it and was third with a jump of 9.82 meters. 

North Harrison

For the girls, Raegan Hogan was sixth in the 100 with a time of 15.15. 

Hali Smith came close to a personal best in the 100 Hurdles and won it with a time of 19.75. The 4x100 relay team was fifth with a time of 1:00.50. 

Raegan Hogan got her second medal in the High Jump with a height of 1.25 meters. Hali Smith was fifth in the Pole Vault with a height of 1.55 meters. 

Hali Smith got her second win of the afternoon in the Long Jump. Trying it for the first time, she got a winning jump of 4.32 meters. Gracie Young was fourth, coming close to a personal best with a jump of 4.16 meters.

Kathryn Parkhurst got a personal best in the Shot Put with a throw of 6.01 meters. Her previous best was 5.72 meters last year. Ava Rinehart tried her hand at the Discus and was sixth with a throw of 18.79 meters. Kathryn Parkhurst got a personal best with a throw of 12.68 meters. 

For the boys, Jensen Davis was sixth in the 100 with a time of 13.89. Ryker Fortner cut six seconds off his time in the 800 and finished sixth with a time of 2:34.54. 

Dalton Guy tried his hand at the 100 Hurdles and was third with a time of 18.82. 

The 4x100 relay team was sixth with a time of 56.84. The 4x200 team was sixth with a time of 2:02.77.

Jensen Davis won the Long Jump with a jump of 4.86 meters. Ryker Fortner saved his best for last last year with a jump of 4.02 and built on that with a personal best of 4.15 to start off this year. Cole Hartschen got a personal best in the Triple Jump with a jump of 7.97 meters. 

Henry Frank got a personal best in the Shot Put by a full meter from last year and got a throw of 8.10. Meric Hansel got a personal best in the Discus. Last year, his personal best was 16.87. This year, he improved to 18.21 meters.
