Northeast Nodaway’s junior high track squad finally got off the ground Monday, April 8th at Mound City after a series of rainouts and cancellations to start the year.
For the girls, Rock Port had 155.5, Mid-Buchanan 122, East Atchison 64.5, Mound City 55, St. Gregory’s 50, Platte Valley 26, Buchanan County Middle School 25, South Holt 24, St. Joseph Christian 14, North Andrew 13, Nodaway Valley 12, NEN 9, Stewartsville/Osborn 8, and North Nodaway 1.
For the boys, Mound City won with 87. North Andrew had 85, Rock Port 79, St. Joseph Christian 66, Nodaway Valley 48, East Atchison 40, Buchanan County Middle School 39, Platte Valley 38, Mid-Buchanan 31, St. Gregory’s 31, NEN 15, South Holt 13, Stewartsville/Osborn 10, and North Nodaway 3.
For the girls, Rylee Scadden got a personal best in the 100, breaking the 15 second barrier and finishing seventh with a time of 14.89. The girls got two personal bests in the 200. Piper Gray got a personal best run of 32.60 seconds and Sadie Hall got a personal best with 32.88. Sadie Hall got a personal best in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 21.87.
The 4x100 team of Holly Bennett, Piper Gray, Sadie Hall, and Rylee Scadden was fourth with a time of 1:02.35. The 4x400 team of Piper Gray, Holly Bennett, Sadie Hall, and Rylee Scadden was seventh with a time of 5:38.65.
For the boys, Wyatt Scadden tried his hand at the 400 and was sixth with a time of 1:05.25. The 4x400 team of Gracin Runde, Xander Bodle, Wyatt Scadden, and Liam Cordell was eighth with a time of 4:52.65. Wyatt Scadden got a personal best in the High Jump and broke into the standings, getting an eighth place height of 1.47 meters. Liam Cordell got a personal best in the Long Jump with a jump of 3.93 meters. Jace Burns improved his throw in the Shot put by 1.75 meters, getting a throw of 8.48. Jace Burns improved his throw in the Discus by over 9 meters, getting a second place throw of 28.15. Brady O’Connell, out for track for the first time this year, tried his hand at it and finished with a seventh place throw of 24.40.
North Nodaway
The Mustangs got two personal bests in the 400. Lila Miller got a personal best run of 1:31.59, improving by over four seconds, while Chandra Wyllie got a personal best time of 1:38.08. Zoey Pearson got a personal best in the 1600 with a time of 7:06.76.
The 4x400 team of Eliza Clements, Zoey Phillips, Zoey Pearson, and Trynzlee Ebrecht took 48 seconds off their time and finished eighth with a time of 5:34.40.
Zoey Phillips got a personal best in the Long Jump with a jump of 3.16 meters. Eliza Clements got a season best in the Triple Jump with a jump of 7.20 meters.
For the boys, Jackson Keho was eighth in the 100 with a time of 13.71. Trenton Roberts got a personal best in the 200 with a time of 35.67. Hayden Marriott got a personal best in the 400 with a time of 1:19.57. Draven Rader got a personal best in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 22.86.
The 4x100 team of Robbie Forney, Owen Coleman, Hayden Marriott, and Jackson Keho was seventh with a time of 1:00.70. The 4x400 team of Reed Martin, Conner Pearson, Draven Rader, and Hudson Alexander improved their time by almost 20 seconds and had a time of 5:16.38.
The Mustangs got two personal bests in the High Jump. Robbie Forney got a height of 1.42 meters, while Reed Martin improved to 1.32 meters. Hayden Marriott got a personal best in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.46 meters. Owen Coleman got a season best with a jump of 2.78.
