Registration is now open for the 2026 Maryville Veterans Golf Tournament, hosted by the Cameron Veterans’ Home Assistance League. Scheduled for Friday, July 31, at Mozingo Lake Golf Course, 25055 Liberty Rd, the event will honor all veterans and directly benefit northwest Missouri veterans who are in the Home.
This annual tournament is one of the primary fundraisers for the Cameron Veterans Home Assistance League and is limited to 36 teams. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The tournament will feature a shotgun start in a best-ball format, beginning with lunch at 11:00 am. Participants can also look forward to 18 holes of golf, shared cart rental, lunch, on-course beverages, snacks, a raffle, and an auction of some significant items.
“As we gather for the 13th annual Veterans Golf Tournament, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude,” said tournament chairman Wayne Pierson. “This is not just an opportunity for friendly competition and camaraderie; it is a celebration of the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to the service of our country.”
The Assistance League uses the funds generated at this event to enhance the quality of life of the veterans staying in the Cameron Veteran Home. 100% of the proceeds from the outing benefit this purpose.
The Cameron Veterans’ Home is a 180-bed skilled nursing facility, opened in 2000, that provides long-term care, specialized memory care, and rehabilitation services for honorably discharged veterans.
Veterans currently at the Cameron facility are: 62 U.S. Army, 26 U.S. Navy, 27 U.S. Air Force, and 14 U.S. Marines.
The veterans served in the following wars: 2 in World War II, 16 in the Korean War, 80 in the Vietnam War, 4 in the Gulf War, 1 in the Global War on Terrorism and 26 served in peacetime.
Participants are encouraged to register early, as foursomes tend to fill up quickly.
