Lady Hawks Third, Score 81 Points at Jim King Relays

Gilman City’s girls had 81 team points at the Jim King Relays Monday. Trenton had 158 points, running away with the meet. Princeton had 93, Gilman City 81, Putnam County 75, Newtown-Harris 51, Mercer 46, Pattonsburg 36, North Harrison 19, East Harrison 4, Linn County 4, and Green City 1.

Alli Burke was third in the 300 Hurdles with a personal best time of 55.72. Avery Gregg got a personal best in the 800 and won it by over 18 seconds, getting a time of 2:31.02. Paisley Taggart was third with a time of 2:49.76. Avery Gregg also won the 1600, getting a time of 5:55.50. Paisley Taggart was third with a personal best time of 6:13.27. Hailey McClure was second in the 3200 with a time of 14:52.96.

The 4x100 relay team was third with a time of 55.15. The 4x800 team of Hailey McClure, Khloey Sperry, Paisley Taggart, and Avery Gregg won with a time of 10:47.02, a season best.

Pyper Taggart got a season best in the Discus with a throw of 21.28 meters. Khloey Sperry and Annabelle Gardner have been neck and neck in the High Jump; this time, Khloey edged out Annabelle in tiebreaks for first place as both got a height of 1.60 meters. Khloey Sperry shot up the ranks in the Javelin, getting a second place throw of 31.40 meters. Pyper Taggart was sixth in the Shot Put with a throw of 8 meters. Alli Burke got a personal best with a throw of 7.67 meters.

The boys were seventh with 26 team points. The 100 was a five way race for first, with four hundredths of a second separating the top five. Camden Griffith was third with a time of 11.62. Griffith was second in the 200 with a time of 23.42. Camden ran away with the 400 by over 4.4 seconds, getting a time of 50.89, a personal best.

Alex Young got a personal best in the Discus with a throw of 26.38 meters. Mason Preston was fifth in the High Jump, matching a personal best with a height of 1.65 meters.
