Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for April 29th, 2026

On April 20th, Jason Spease (33) of Carrolton failed to appear in Nodaway County Circuit Court on a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). A warrant was issued and bond was denied.

On April 20th, the Bethany City Council recognized Bethany Police Officer Charles Bloss for his actions in diffusing a dangerous situation on I-35.

On April 21st, Matthew Felton (48) of Maryville pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of DWI. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Robert Rice.

On April 21st, Matthew Baker (26) of Altamont (MO) pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of DWI. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Micha Lea Dixon. Defendant must perform 30 hours of community service.

On April 21st, Kristen Milum (42) of Altamont pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Peace Disturbance. She was fined $150 plus costs by Judge Micha Lea Dixon.

On April 21st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Zachariah Peters (23) of Ashland (NE) alleging DWI.

On April 21st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Laura Feltham (42) of Savannah alleging DWI.

On April 21st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Steven Boedeker (43) of Ravenwood alleging Inhaling a Solvent. This is in addition to charges filed on April 17th.

On April 22nd, a tornado was spotted near the Kawasaki plant in Maryville. The workers were taken to the storm shelter. Later, the storm struck Stanberry and a tornado hit with no warning or storm sirens. There was widespread damage.

On April 22nd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 48 year old Albany driver was driving a motorcycle northbound on Route DD four miles north of Gallatin when they failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the east side, overturned, and the driver was ejected. They were injured and taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.

On April 22nd, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against James Wilkinson (41) of Hamilton alleging Receiving Stolen Property (Felony). An affidavit from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department alleges the defendant was in possession of a Polaris Razor that had been reported stolen.

On April 22nd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 20 year old Maryville driver fell asleep on Route 71 near Highway Y in Nodaway County and ran off the road, resulting in an injury to the driver.

On April 22nd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol released the names of the two victims in the Skidmore double murder. They were Liberty Moore (32) and Karen Babcock (58) of Skidmore.

On April 22nd, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Joshua Green (40) of Worth alleging Resisting Arrest (Felony), Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Burglary (Felony), No Valid License (Felony), Tampering with Evidence, Careless & Imprudent Driving, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and No Insurance. Bond was set at $5,000, cash or corporate surety.

On April 22nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Michael Wulff filed charges against Morgan Smith (32) of Ridgeway alleging Violation of Education Requirement for Child. An affidavit from the 3rd Circuit Juvenile Office alleges a minor child missed 47 days of school as of April 16th.

On April 23rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 39 year old woman from Clearmont was injured when she failed to negotiate a curve on Roseberry Street in Burlington Junction, ran off the side of the roadway, and struck a ditch.

On April 23rd, Judge Corey Herron issued an arrest warrant for Paul Murphy (41) of Albany in Gentry County Circuit Court upon receipt of a violation report. Bond was set at $25,000, cash only. The defendant was on probation for Driving While Revoked (Felony) and DWI. The warrant was subsequently served. Subsequently, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Murphy alleging Harassment (Felony) and Threatening Nonconsensual Dissemination of Private Sexual Images (Felony).

On April 23rd, Judge Corey Herron issued an arrest warrant for Ashley Howes (30) of Lexington (MO) in Nodaway County Circuit Court upon receipt of a violation report. Bond was denied.

On April 24th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Timathy Runnels (63) of Albany alleging DWI (Felony), No Insurance, and Failure to Register. Bond was set at $5,000 signature bond. Defendant may not enter bars. Defendant must wear GPS device.

On April 25th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Matthew Pottorff (36) of Gallatin alleging Harassment. Bond was set at $5,000, cash only.

On April 26th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Joshua Sagehorn (25) of Kearney (NE) alleging Stealing (Motor Vehicle, Felony), and Leaving the Scene (Felony). Bond was set at $10,000 signature bond. Defendant may have no contact with the victim.

On April 26th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Bryant Fuller (26) of Maryville alleging Stealing Delivery Items (Felony). Bond was set at $5,000, cash or corporate surety.

On April 27th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Nathan Brown (37) of Skidmore alleging Failure to Register as Sex Offender (Felony) and Violation of Protection Order. Bond was denied.

On April 27th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Eddie Garza (31) of Albany alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway, and No Valid License. Bond was set at $10,000.

On April 27th, special prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges in Gentry County against Donald Graf (71) of Stanberry alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident). An affidavit from the Missouri State Highway Patrol alleges the defendant drove into the rear of an Amish buggy, killing the horse and injuring the driver.

On April 28th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Lindsey Dirks (30) of Pattonsburg alleging Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Felony). Bond was set at $25,000, cash only. Defendant may have no contact with victims, witnesses, or any persons under 18.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
