The May 26th, 1971 Times-Tribune reported on a rocket launch by Worth County sixth graders near the end of the school year. They were taught by Mrs. Freida Elwick.
Class members participating were Reggie Nonneman, Donnie Pottorff, Ronnie Green, Mike Wideman, Andy Thurman, Janice Hardy, Brenda Costin, Mary Beth Rinehart, Lora Fletchall, Avona Campbell, Barbara Baker, Bonnie Sherer, Penny Hughes, Emory Robertson, Allen Younkin, Bill Hunter, Jeff Stephens, Leroy Graham, Terry Fletchall, Linda Wilkinson, Ramah Clayton, Susan Payne, Suzanne King, Debbie Roach, Virginia Thurman, Patricia Mathis, Tammy Chicken, and Sandy Howard.
