On July 29th, Michael Wood (37) of Bethany pleaded guilty in Harrison County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Domestic Assault. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Jay Hemenway.
On July 29th, Darrell Teel (58) of Pattonsburg pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Peace Disturbance. He was assessed $417.50 in fines and costs by Judge Micha Lea Dixon.
On July 29th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Sianna Glass (19) alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Minor in Possession of Marijuana. Bond was set at $10,000, with the defendant to be released on their own recognizance. Defendant must wear drug patch and submit to drug testing on request.
On July 29th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Lester Bryan (68) of Jamesport alleging Peace Disturbance.
On July 31st, the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department reported that they received calls regarding a homeless man around Hopkins. He refused any offers of resources, transportation, or housing. The Sheriff’s Department said that since he had not committed a crime, he could not be taken into custody against his will. The Sheriff’s Department advises people to lock their vehicles and buildings.
On July 31st, the Humane Society of Missouri said it had carried out its largest rescue operation in more than a decade, pulling around 150 dogs from a home in Christian County (MO). They expected the total to reach 180 animals, including cats, rabbits, birds, and kittens. Many of the animals were found dehydrated, malnourished, and suffering from wounds.
On July 31st, State Sen. Mike Moon, State Rep. Bryant Wolfin, and a private citizen filed a suit seeking to have SB3 declared unconstitutional. The bill, which offers tax incentives to the Chiefs and Royals in return for them staying in Missouri, also includes a provision requiring certain counties to put a measure on the April 2026 ballot limiting or eliminating certain property tax increases.
On July 31st, Judge Rebecca McGinley issued a warrant following receipt of a bond violation report for Matthew Thomas (43) of King City. The defendant had posted surety bond the day before. Bond was denied. Judge McGinley also issued a warrant for the arrest of Ashley Swinney (32) of King City following receipt of a bond violation report. Bond was denied.
On July 31st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Alexandra Davis (36) of Maryville alleging Child Abuse (Felony) and DWI. Bond was set at $500, cash only.
On August 1st, Judge Corey Herron issued a warrant for Irina Younger (65) of Maryville alleging that she failed to abide by a court order. Defendant must serve 48 hours once in custody and scram device must be in place prior to release. The defendant was on probation for DWI.
On August 1st, a Hopkins woman reported on Facebook that thieves broke into her lawnmower shed and stole a weedeater, a tire pump, and fireworks.
On August 1st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Charles Moore (80) of Cameron in Daviess County on charges of DWI and Speeding.
On August 2nd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jamie Fee (32) of Burlington Junction in Nodaway County on charges of DWI and Careless & Imprudent Driving.
On August 2nd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Garret Syler (46) of Liberty in Daviess County on a charge of DWI.
On August 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2004 Ford Explorer driven by a 21 year old King City woman was northbound on Route 69 five miles south of Pattonsburg. The vehicle went off the east side of the road; the driver overcorrected, crossed the roadway, went off the west side, and overturned. The driver was seriously injured and taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph. A 28 year old man from Winston, a passenger, was lifeflighted to KU Medical Center with serious injuries.
On August 4th, Richard Arnold (54) of Jonesboro (GA) failed to appear in Nodaway County Circuit Court for a probation violation hearing. The defendant was on probation for No Valid License, Failure to Register, and No Insurance. A warrant was issued and bond set at $598.50.
On August 4th, Alexander Thompson (25) of Maryville pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Circuit Court to charges of Violation of Protection Order and Domestic Assault. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Corey Herron. Defendant may have no unlawful contact with the victim.
On August 4th, Judge Aaron Koeppen issued a warrant for Garrett Coats (24) of Sunrise Beach (MO) in Camden County Circuit Court after the defendant picked up new charges in Nodaway County. A warrant was issued and bond was denied. The defendant was on probation for Domestic Assault (Felony).
On August 4th, Livingston County Prosecutor Brian Keedy filed charges against William Gutshall (54) of Trenton alleging Sexual Contact with a Student. The defendant was a part time teacher at Chillicothe while the alleged victim was a student. Bond was denied.
On August 4th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Trevor Alexander (34) of King City alleging three counts Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Tampering with Motor Vehicle (Felony), and Driving While Revoked. Bond was set at $7,500 cash or corporate surety, posted by the defendant.
On August 4th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Amanda King (38) of Maryville alleging Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Felony). Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety.
Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
