Obituary -- Emory Robertson 1959-2019

Emory Carl Robertson, Lamoni, Iowa passed away August 11, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Emory was born in Mt. Ayr, Iowa November 20, 1959 to Woodrow and Trula (McClure) Robertson. He attended Worth County R3 High School in Grant City, MO. After graduation he moved to Colorado where he worked as a guide and master chef in Vail and Denver. Later he returned to Missouri and worked at the St. Joseph State Hospital for a couple of years, then moved to Lamoni, Iowa. He graduated from Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa and worked in construction until illness kept him from working. Emory made a confession of faith and loved the Lord.

Emory is survived by brothers Bill Robertson (Brenda) of Birmingham, AL, Roger Robertson (Charlene) of Grant City, MO, sisters Diana Baker and Vickie Miller of Allendale, MO, and special friend Sheryl Harrison of Lamoni, Iowa. He is also survived by Sheryl’s sons, Kenny (Lauren) and Kyle (Melody) and grandchildren Delaney, Brynn, Grant, Gus, Luke who he loved as his own, and Sheryl’s mother Norma Becker. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Emory was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law Galen (Joker) Miller and Albert Baker and nephew Tyler (Maynard) Miller.

Graveside services will be September 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Kirk Cemetery in Allendale, MO followed by a Celebration of Life at the Community Hall in Allendale, MO.
