Courthouse News for September 4th, 2019

On the night of August 27th, vandals tore out two light fixtures on the east side of the Sheridan Park.

On August 27th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Edward Cates (33) and Tisha Kinnison (27) of Ridgeway alleging Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On August 27th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Kody Bradley (27) of Eagleville alleging Driving While Revoked (2nd or 3rd), Speeding (20-25 mph over), No Insurance (2nd or subsequent), Excess Vision Reducing Material, and No Seat Belt.

On August 27th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Matthew Dixon (60) of Cainsville alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident), No Insurance, and No Seat Belt.

On August 27th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Lacey Wiederholt (26) of Pickering alleging Stealing.

On August 27th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Ricky Kemp (59) of Guilford alleging No Valid License and Failure to Register.

On August 28th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Lawrence Bohall (51) of Maryville alleging No Valid License.

On August 28th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Johnny Titus (54) of Pickering alleging DWI and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway.

On August 28th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Leon Nobles II alleging No Valid License.

On August 28th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Richard Sweat (27) of Pattonsburg alleging No Insurance.

On the evening of August 28th, on Route 46 near Carol Chicken’s between Sheridan and Grant City, there was a three car accident. Numerous cop cars and other emergency vehicles came. There were no injuries.

Joseph Wallace, 39, of Bedford was arrested at the 700 block of Main St. in Bedford on August 28, 2019. He was charged with Driving While Barred, an aggravated misdemeanor, and Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent Offense, a class D felony. He is being held at the Taylor County Jail on $7,000 cash bond.

On August 29th, the Worth County Sheriff’s Department sent out a text alert saying scammers were impersonating the Sheriff’s Department. If you get such a call, hang up and call the Sheriff’s Department at (660) 564-2222.

On August 29th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Cody Swinney (29) of Skidmore on charges of Driving While Suspended.

On August 30th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Billy Smith (36) of Austin (TX) in Nodaway County on a Felony Out of State Warrant.

On August 30th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Robert Miller (28) of Martinsville in Harrison County on a Harrison County Warrant for Failure to Appear (Non-Support)  and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On Friday, August 30th, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department posted the following notice on their Facebook Page: It has come to our attention that there are rumors of a potential threat at the Bedford Schools. The Sheriff's Office and school officials have investigated the issue and believe there is no valid threat at this time. Both agencies will be taking appropriate precautions to ensure the safety of everyone.

On August 31st, the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nicholas Phelps (41) of Lamoni on a Ringgold County Warrant (Probation Violation).

On September 1st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jeremiah Thyrion (32) of Lineville (IA) in Harrison County on charges of DWI, Failure to Signal, and Failure to Register.

On September 1st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jarod Clevenger (21) of Solon (IA) in Harrison County on charges of DWI, Speeding, and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway.

Jared Staton of Lenox was arrested at the intersection of Highway 25 and 160th St. on September 1, 2019. He was charged with Operating While Intoxicated-Third or Subsequent Offense, a Class D Felony, and is being held at the Taylor County Jail on $5,000 cash bond.

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
