Erica Gerken Tosses No Hitter; Junior High Shamrocks Win

Erica Gerken tossed a no-hitter for North Harrison’s junior high Shamrocks, who posted a 22-0 win over Tri-County. They went to 3-2 on the year, having won a forfeit over East Harrison. They were run-ruled by Milan and Lathrop, but in the second game of a double header, they turned around and beat Lathrop 6-4.

This game was not much of a contest, but Gerken got better as the game progressed, as she was more effective in the rain which hit during the second inning. She struck out six Mustang batters and did not allow a ball to be put in play.

Jaci Davis had two hits for the Shamrocks, a double that was a slow roller past the shortstop and which bounded into a gap; she added a single as well. Kira Robertson had a single, while Natalie Parkhurst beat out a scratch hit down the first base line.

Natalie Parkhurst game home to score on wild pitches four times. Erica Gerken came home on wild pitches three times, as did Carmen Fordyce. Jaci Davis came home twice on wild pitches, as did Cambry Doolittle. Kira Robertson and Kayka Wilson came home once each.

The game was called after 2½ innings due to lightning.
