Only in Jamesport: Runaway Horse Interrupts Game
North Harrison softball coach Brandon Craig recounted how a game in Jamesport, where Tri-County plays, was once held up by a runaway horse in the late 1990’s, when he was coaching at Gilman City. His boys softball team was playing Tri-County, and the field at the time had no fences, even for the outfield. Suddenly, a runaway horse came charging through right field, stopping the game as his rightfielder started chasing after it. Finally, four Amish boys came chasing after the animal and managed to corral it.
Now, the field has towering fences to keep any more runaway horses from interrupting games.
