Northeast Nodaway Boys Secure Third Place Over Longhorns in OT Thriller

Eli Scroggie got a triple double and Northeast Nodaway’s boys won third place over South Nodaway in an overtime thriller 63-55 Friday at Northwest Missouri State. Eli Scroggie had 18 points, 11 boards, and 10 blocks as he has emerged as a force in the paint this year.

Neither team was able to gain control for the first three quarters. Nobody led by more than one possession until Spencer Weir’s 3-pointer at the 3:04 mark in the third put Northeast up 40-36. Spencer Weir hit a free throw after a steal, and then Eli Scroggie’s three point play off a pass from Weir with 1:45 left put Northeast in control at 59-51.
