Elflandia Explored at North Nodaway Elementary Winter Music Concert

Elflandia, the mystical land that anyone could reach – as long as they were an elf – opened its world to a rare outside look at the North Nodaway Elementary Music Concert Wednesday. In it, the elves, who make toys for Santa’s annual trip around the world, make up their own little world. Some don’t believe that humans exist, while others were just as scared of humans as we would be of ghosts. Others shook their head and said, “silly humans!”

The musical, which included the entire North Nodaway student body from grades 1 through 5, opened a gateway between the two worlds as “Santa” took one of “his” dearest friends to Elflandia to reassure her that “Happy Holidays” was not on its way out, while reminding his busy workers of the true meaning of their work – generosity, and spreading good will around the world – and between the worlds, as the case was.

The North Nodaway Preschool, with 18 students, warmed up for the act, singing “Up on the Housetop,” “Christmas Tree Song” to the tune of “Round and Round,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Ten members of the Fifth Grade Band also performed, showing what they had learned.
