Worth County Hires Torri Kephart, Amy Davidson as Teachers

The Worth County School Board voted Wednesday to hire Torri Kephart as an elementary teacher and Amy Davidson as a high school special ed teacher for the 2025-26 school year.

Elementary Principal Chuck Borey reported that 10 students have signed up to attend Preschool for the 2025-26 school year.

Attendance for parent/teacher conferences was between 95% and 100%.

A Title Teachers appreciation breakfast was held Wednesday, March 12th.

A Mad Science Night and a Read Across America week were held at the school.

High School Principal Josh Smith reported that the sophomores won the Attendance Challenge for February. They were followed by the 7th grade and the juniors.

Students volunteered for the mobile food pantry March 3rd.

The board approved the certified salary schedule with a base of $40,000 and a minimum of $46,000 for teachers with a Master’s Degree and 10 years experience. Health insurance compensation will be $525/month towards the district offered health insurance.

The school will not offer summer school for 2025 because federal funding for it has run out. Only 7-12 grade credit recovery will be offered.

Bond construction projects will begin as soon as school dismisses for the year.

The next meeting will be April 16th at 6 pm.
