The Missouri Quilt Museum, located in Hamilton, has reopened for the 2025 season.
“We are excited for 2025,” said Dakota Redford, Curator of the museum. “We have a number of exciting new exhibits scheduled for 2025 as well as several return exhibits. Everyday the museum will feature over 300 quilts, 200 plus antique sewing machines, over 7,000 thimbles, plus industrial machines, antique merchandising items and more.”
Visitors to the museum are greeted by the World’s Tallest Spool of Thread, standing over 22 feet tall and containing over 1,000,000 yards of thread. Located in the 105-year-old Hamilton High School Building, visitors will find 18 different exhibit areas.
Current exhibits include Missouri’s Bicentennial Quilt, The Einstein Pixel Quilt, Crazy Quilts, Pre-civil war quilts, feed sack quilts, miniature quilts and various museum collection quilts. The featured exhibitor this spring is Carolina Moore, an international quilting celebrity and inventor.
A dedicated gallery sponsored by the Missouri State Quilt Guild features quilts from various Missouri Quilt Guilds. The current exhibit is quilts from the Loose Threads Quilt Guild from St. Peter, Missouri.
The Missouri Quilt Museum is located at 300 E. Bird Street in Hamilton. The museum is open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday and from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturdays. Senior and Military discounts are offered.
