Richard “Dick” Lee Gordon, departed this world on November 5, 2024 to spend eternity with Bedonna, his loving wife of 64 years and our heavenly father. He was a husband, father to three and grandfather to six and a great-grandfather to two.
Born on Friday the 13th of March, 1931 in Hopkins, MO, he was raised on a dairy farm, received his undergrad degree in Maryville, MO at NWMSC and received his MBA at Indiana University. Dick was a navy veteran and raised his family in Kansas City, MO where he worked for Hallmark Cards. He had an active role in his kids lives as both a Boy Scout leader and YMCA your group leader. He served his church in Kansas City, MO in various roles including Choir, Deacon, Elder, Board Member, Board Chairman and led the new Pastor Search Committee.
His employment took him to Texas where he worked for Christian greeting card companies, a truck company and even the 2020 Census. He built a house in Flower Mound where he retired. He joined Trietsch United Methodist Church where he participated in several annual Christmas plays and the “Retired Guys” maintenance crew.
He blessed every one whose path he crossed and has now gone on to enjoy his Heavenly reward.
A graveside memorial service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Blythedale, Missouri. Online condolences can be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com.
