Eric Richardson Appointed to North Harrison School Board

At their regular meeting Wednesday, the North Harrison school board appointed Eric Richardson to fill a one year term that will run through March 2026. For next year’s election, there will be three three-year terms and one two-year term up for election. Richardson will be running for the two-year term.

The board approved a baseball cooperative agreement with Ridgeway for the 2025 season. Mercer, Cainsville, and Ridgeway were unable to form a team and one athlete came over to compete for North Harrison. The athlete, Brandon Underwood, played in North Harrison’s 12-2 win over North Nodaway Thursday.

There were two other baseball cooperative moves made for this year. Tri-County and Gallatin broke up their cooperative, and Tri-County is now part of Gundy County and Newtown-Harris’ cooperative. Gallatin will compete this year on its own and play in the GRC. The Gilman City/Pattonsburg/North Daviess cooperative, which competed under Gilman City’s banner last year, will compete under Pattonsburg’s banner this year so that the franchise can compete in the GRC West.

Justin Richardson was hired as Assistant Baseball Coach by the board, and he coached in Thursday’s game along with head coach Ron Rivera. The board hired Kathryn Parkhurst and Kayson Sims to serve as summer student employees.

All current certified staff were offered Letters of Intent for the upcoming school year.

Teacher Tabrey Kimbrough presented what she was teaching in math classes as well as scholar bowl. Kristy Reno gave a presentation on what elementary students have been doing in computer class and what business math students have been learning.
