On February 24th, the Bethany Republican-Clipper reported that a Minnesota man was struck by a car and seriously injured after running onto Route 146 north of Gilman City naked. He was lifeflighted to St. Luke’s.
On February 28th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Kevin Ray of Delphos on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set at $2,300, cash or corporate surety.
On March 4th, Richard Miller (41) of Cameron pleaded guilty in DeKalb County Circuit Court to a charge of Statutory Rape. A presentence report was ordered and defendant remanded to the custody of the Sheriff.
On March 4th, Matthew Smith (22) of Excelsior Springs failed to appear in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court on charges of DWI and Failure to Signal. A warrant was issued and bond set at $500, cash only.
On March 4th, Chad Behrens (45) of Stanberry pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI and Speeding (20-25 mph over). He was placed on two years probation and fined $250 by Judge Robert Rice. Defendant may not possess or consume alcoholic beverages, enter any establishment whose principal occupation is the sale or dispensing of alcoholic beverages, and must complete SATOP and the Midwest Victim Impact Program by May 4th.
On March 4th, Kolten Smith (21) of Maryville pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of DWI. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Robert Rice. Defendant must serve 10 days shock time in jail, not possess or consume any alcoholic beverage or enter any establishment whose principal occupation is the sale or dispensing of alcoholic beverages, and complete the Midwest Victim Impact Program by June 4th, 2025.
On March 4th, Paul Saimon (41) of Marshall (MO) pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI and Speeding (20-25 mph over). He was fined $700 plus costs by Judge Robert Rice.
On March 4th, Brandon Benedict (25) of Omaha pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Stealing. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Robert Rice and ordered to make $963.77 in restitution to Wal-Mart.

On March 5th, KTTN reported that authorities in Harrison County participated in the arrest of Ricardo Ortiz (46) of Faribault (MN) after they were notified by Rice County (MN) authorities of his potential presence in the county. He was wanted on multiple counts of Assault and Burglary along with the stabbing of a 50 year old victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds. He was subsequently ordered extradited back to Minnesota.
On March 5th, Shyann Tallen (36) of New Hampton pleaded guilty in Harrison County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI (Person Under 17 in Vehicle) and No Seat Belt. She was placed on two years probation by Judge Jay Hemenway, ordered to serve 10 days shock time, and fined $10.
On March 5th, Gaylord Humphrey (45) of Pattonsburg pleaded guilty in Daviess County Circuit Court to a charge of No Valid License (Felony). He was placed on five years probation by Judge Daren Adkins.
On March 5th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2021 Freightliner was southbound on I-35 at around 7:30 am on ice covered roads when he lost control, ran off the west side, and struck an embankment. A 79 year old driver received minor injuries.
On March 6th, the Maryville Forum reported that an injury accident at the intersection of Route 71 and South Avenue halted traffic in all directions at around 2 pm.
On March 6th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Cannon Crouch (19) of Des Moines alleging Tampering with Motor Vehicle (Felony) and Stealing (Felony). Bond was set at $2,000.

On March 6th, David Kay Cole (61) of Stanberry pleaded guilty in Gentry County Circuit Court to charges of Driving While Revoked (Felony) and No Insurance. He was placed on five years probation, fined $100, and ordered to serve 10 days shock time in jail by Judge Corey Herron.

He was placed on five years probation and ordered to make $7,383.46 in restitution to MFA Oil by Judge Corey Herron.
On March 6th, Judge Corey Herron revoked the probation of Forest Buckman (35) of Bethany in Gentry County Circuit Court and ordered him to serve four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for a charge of Domestic Assault.

On March 6th, KTTN reported that the Newtown-Harris School District was broken into. Damage was found on a door where money was kept. A search of the building was conducted to ensure no unauthorized individuals remained inside before students were permitted to enter.
On March 8th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Lane Cringan (21) of Cowgill in Daviess County on a charge of Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony). Charges were filed on March 9th by Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson, who also filed charges alleging Displaying Plates of Another, No Plates, and No Seat Belt. Bond was set at $5,000, cash only.

On March 9th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Benjamin Luna (31) of Maryville in Nodaway County on charges of DWI (Felony, Serious Physical Injury) and Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).
On March 10th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Michael Hull (34) of Maryville alleging Domestic Assault (Felony) and Resisting Arrest (Felony). Bond was denied.
On March 10th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2006 Silverado turned eastbound on Highway 6 from DD two miles west of Gallatin. The Silverado failed to yield and pulled into the path of a 2023 Jeep Gladiator. The driver of the Jeep, a 24 year old woman from Maysville, received minor injuries and was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center.
On March 11th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Christopher Wiederholt (64) of Conception Junction in Nodaway County on charges of Leaving the Scene (2nd, Felony), Driving While Revoked (3rd, Felony), and Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).
On March 11th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Javier Palmer (20) of St. Joseph alleging Attempted Escape from Custody. Bond was denied.
On March 11th, Special Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Aaron Jones (50) of Maryville in Nodaway County alleging two counts Domestic Assault. Prosecutor Tina Dieter and Judge Robert Rice disqualified themselves due to a conflict of interest and Judge Joel Miller was assigned. Bond was set at $5,000, cash only.
Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
