Tiger Boys Win Second Meet of Year; Girls Second at Stanberry

Worth County’s boys won their second track meet of the year at Stanberry Thursday and the girls were runner-ups behind East Atchison.

For the girls, East Atchison had 86.5, Worth County 63, Platte Valley 60, Rock Port 48, Pattonsburg 44, Mound City 43, DeKalb 39, Albany 38, St. Joseph Christian 35, Gallatin 33.5, King City 26, Nodaway Valley 21, South Holt 20, East Harrison 8, Gilman City 8, Stanberry 7, Stewartsville/Osborn 5, and NEN 2.

For the boys, Worth County had 92, Mound City 86, King City 62, Nodaway Valley 58, Albany 55, Stanberry 54, East Atchison 54, Rock Port 30, Platte Valley 26, Stewartsville/Osborn 20, North Nodaway 14, St. Joseph Christian 14, Gallatin 10, DeKalb 9, NEN 2, and East Harrison 1.

For the girls, the Tigers were 2-3 in the 100. Emma Spencer was second with a time of 13.37 and Hailey Adwell third with a time of 13.42. Both got personal bests, with Spencer’s mark coming in the finals and Adwell getting a time of 13.35 in the prelims. 

Hailey Adwell was second in the 200 with a time of 28.02. Brylea Paxson was sixth in the 1600 with a time of 6:35.92. 

The 4x100 team of Hailey Adwell, Brooklyn Richardson, Rayleigh Smith, and Emma Spencer won with a time of 53.55, almost a second better than their previous best time. 

Riley Ridge showed her height in the High Jump was no accident, as she matched her personal best from last time and got a height of 5’1¼”. That was good enough for fourth place. Eva Engel won the Pole Vault with a height of 9’10½”. 

Kara Staton was fourth in the Shot Put with a throw of 31’4½”. She was also fourth in the Discus with a throw of 99’8¾”. Ali Brown was second in the Javelin with a throw of 110’6¾”. 

For the boys, Levi Cassavaugh got a personal best 11.01 in the prelims of the 100, but couldn’t keep up the pace. He still finished fourth with a time of 11.79. Ethan Frese got another personal best with a time of 11.76. Levi won the 400 with a time of 54.80. 

John Galanakis was third in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 18.22. Lucas Frisch was third in the 300 Hurdles with a personal best time of 47.29, almost a second better than his previous best time. 

The 4x100 team of Andrew Griffin, Lucas Frisch, Tyler New, and Levi Cassavaugh was third with a personal best time of 47.41. The 4x200 team of Tyler New, John Galanakis, Landon Moser, and Levi Cassavaugh took four seconds off their time and took second with a time of 1:37.32. The 4x400 team of Brayden Murphy, Franklynn Taute, Andrew Griffin, and Lucas Frisch took fourth with a time of 4:05.21. 

Landon Moser finished fourth in the Long Jump with a jump of 17’7”. Tyler New was fifth with a jump of 17’6¼”. Landon Moser won the Triple Jump with a personal best 37’4½”. Andrew Griffin was fourth with a jump of 36’5½”. Jase Latham won the Shot Put and came close to a personal best with a throw of 47’7¾”. Latham was second in the Discus with a throw of 106’2¾”. Tyler New won the Javelin and got a personal best throw of 143’8½”. 

Northeast Nodaway

Sasha Deardorff got a personal best in the 200 with a time of 32.73.  Baylie Busby was fifth in the High Jump in a loaded field with a height of 4’9”, close to her personal best. Two Bluejays got personal bests in the Long Jump. Mylee Wilmes got a jump of 12’4¾”, while Sasha Deardorff got a personal best jump of 12 feet. 

For the boys, Kenneth Schieber was fifth in the 3200 with a time of 12:40.50. 

North Nodaway

Mason Casner got a personal best in the 100 with a time of 12.07. Owen Martin was sixth in the 400 with a time of 57.74. Draven Rowland took almost a minute off his time in the 3200 and finished with a time of 14:37.73. Jordan DeLeon took almost two seconds off his time in the 300 Hurdles and finished with a time of 51.17. 

The 4x400 team of Aydan Blackford, Mason Casner, Damon Carroll, and Owen Martin was fifth, taking 26 seconds off their time and finishing with a time of 4:06.48. 

The Mustangs placed two in the High Jump. Owen Martin got a personal best with a height of 5’7”, good enough for third place. Mason Casner also got a height of 5’7” and took fourth.

Aydan Blackford was sixth in the Long Jump with a jump of 17’5½”.
