Courthouse News for April 12th, 2023

On April 4th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2014 Ram Pickup driven by Pedro Salvador (19) of Kansas City (KS) and a 2009 Nissan Sentra driven by Donald Adkins (85) of Darlington were southbound on 169 four miles north of King City. The Nissan was stopped in traffic and the Ram pickup struck it in the rear. Adkins and a passenger, Kathleen Adkins (71) of Darlington, received minor injuries and were taken to Mosaic in Albany. Salvador was not injured.

On April 5th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against William Karger (38) of Cainsville alleging Harassment (Felony). Bond was set at $15,000, cash only.

On April 5th, Roger Harper (44) of Ravenwood was arrested on an out of state warrant from Texas.

On April 7th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Tyler Storm (36) of Maryville on charges of Possession of Child Pornography (Felony) and Distribution of Child Pornography (Felony). Bond was set at $250,000, cash or corporate surety.

On April 7th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Brian Spooner (50) of New Market alleging DWI and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway.

On April 7th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Hassan Hassan (20) of Fridley (MN) in Harrison County on charges of Possession of Defaced Firearm and Speeding (20-25 mph over). Charges were filed by Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt the next day. Bond was set at $20,000, cash only. On April 10th, an additional charge of Assault (Felony) was added.

On April 8th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against James Bell (28) of Darlington alleging Domestic Assault (Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 

On April 10th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2004 Chevy Express driven by Hermelindo Zecena (22) of Eagle Grove (IA) was westbound on Route Z two miles east of Berlin in Gentry County at around 9:30 am. The Chevy crossed the center of the roadway, traveled off the south, overcorrected, and overturned. Zecana and three other people in the vehicle, Victor Zopiyactil (20) of Eagle Grove (IA), Ariel Lopez (26) of Eagle Grove (IA), and Carlos Lopez (40) of Eagle Grove (IA) were all injured and taken to Mosaic in Albany.

On April 10th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Lewis Schrodt (61) and Brenda Schrodt (60) of Clearmont alleging Animal Abuse, Animal Neglect, and Violating Provisions Regarding Disposal of Dead Animals.

On April 11th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2017 Harley-Davidson Roadglide driven by P.J. Porter (25) of Elmo was eastbound on Route JJ and Galaxy Road five miles west of Hopkins at around 5:55 am when he struck a deer and was ejected from the motorcycle. He received minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
