Erika Gerken Gets Two Personal Bests, Tyson Gibson Wins Triple Jump

On Thursday, the North Harrison track teams competed at the Ferguson Relays in Trenton.

For the girls, Lafayette County had 97, Brookfield 85, Maysville 78, Princeton 72, Pattonsburg 56, Carrollton 39, Newtown-Harris 32, Trenton 24, Gallatin 22, Gilman City 21, East Harrison 20, North Harrison 8, and Tri-County 1.

For the boys, Lafayette County had 158, Newtown-Harris 115, Princeton 68, Milan 56.5, Trenton 55, Brookfield 26, Carrolton 18, East Harrison 12, North Harrison 11.5, Maysville 9, Tri-County 8, Gallatin 7, and Mercer 6.

For the girls, Erika Gerken has shown steady improvement in the 100 Hurdles all year and she broke the 20 second barrier, placing sixth and getting a time of 19.85. She also got a personal best in the 300 Hurdles by a second, getting a time of 1:04.88. Halle Morgan was sixth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 29’2¾”, close to a personal best. Lily Shovick was third in the Shot Put with a throw of 29’2¾”. 

On the boys side, Tyson Gibson tied for sixth in the High Jump with a height of 5’4¼”, close to a personal best. Gibson won the Triple Jump with a jump of 43’4½”.
