North Nodaway, NEN Junior High Track Squads Compete at Mound City

The Northeast Nodaway and North Nodaway junior high track squads competed Monday at Mound City.

For the girls, Rock Port won with 111 points. Mid-Buchanan had 79, Mound City 61, St. Gregory’s 57½, East Atchison 50, St. Joseph Christian 46, Nodaway Valley 40, NEN 28, South Holt 26, Stewartsville/Osborn 20½, East Buchanan 20, Platte Valley 10, and North Nodaway 7. 

For the boys, Rock Port had 112 points. Nodaway Valley had 105, St. Joseph Christian 62, Mound City 56½, South Holt 54, East Atchison 47, Mid-Buchanan 47, Platte Valley 39, North Andrew 19, NEN 17, East Buchanan 14, North Nodaway 10, and St. Gregory’s 2½.

For the girls, Blair Nelson got a personal best in the 100 with a time of 15.18. The Bluejays placed two in the 800. Brianna Meyer was fourth with a time of 3:01.95. Bristol Hicks was sixth with a time of 3:04.64. The 4x100 team of Piper Gray, Georgia Taylor, Rylee Scadden, and Holly Bennett was seventh with a time of 1:05.93. The 4x400 team of Sadie Hall, Georgia Taylor, Bristol Hicks, and Brianna Meyer was seventh with a time of 5:25.18. 

Blair Nelson was sixth in the High Jump with a height of 4’1¼”. Nelson was a close second in the Long Jump with a jump of 13’5½, a personal best. Brianna Meyer was fourth in the Shot Put with a throw of 26’2¼”. 

For the boys, Jude Archer was fifth with a time of 13.27. Reece Gray was seventh in the 200, taking over a second off his time and finishing with a time of 27.35. Jude Archer was fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:03.06. The 4x100 team of Liam Cordell, Wyatt Scadden, Xander Bodle, and Reece Gray was eighth with a time of 58.89. The 4x400 team of Wyatt Scadden, Reece Gray, Liam Cordell, and Jude Archer was fourth with a time of 4:31.57. 

Toryn Privett improved by 18 feet in the Discus, getting a throw of 65’7¾”.

North Nodaway

Taccoa Moyer got a personal best in the 200 with a time of 38.21. Pyper Smith got a personal best in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 23.91. The 4x100 team of Trynzlee Ebrecht, Eliza Clements, Mya Hansen, and Lily Blaine was fifth with a personal best time of 1:03.51. The 4x200 team of Mya Hansen, Zoey Phillips, Lily Blaine, and Eliza Clements was seventh with a time of 2:14.44, almost 2½ seconds better than their previous best time. The 4x400 team of Laney Turner, Lily Blaine, Zoey Phillips, and Mya Hansen was eighth with a time of 5:48.63. That was almost 14 seconds better than their previous best time. 

The girls got two personal bests in the Long Jump. Mya Hansen got a jump of 10’8”, while Lily Blaine got a jump of 9’7¾”. 

For the boys, Ridge Harger was third in the 100 with a personal best time of 13.10. That was .41 of a second better than his precious best. Harger also showed a lot of improvement in the 200, He was sixth in the event, taking his time down from 31 seconds to 27.31, or 3.69 seconds. Keith Riedel also got a personal best, getting a time of 41.60. Ty Moyer got a personal best in the 400 with a time of 1:14.05, an improvement of over two seconds. Harger didn’t place in the 800, but he improved by three seconds to 2:41.95. The 4x400 team of Connor Pearson, Draven Rader, Robbie Forney, and Weston Alexander took 20 seconds off their time and finished with a personal best 5:50.37. 

Ridge Harger was eighth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 29’4¾”.
