Opinion: Please do not take our State Manual

by Jen Sievers, Jackson, MO
Please do not take our "official manual, State of Missouri," from "We the American People of this Great State of Missouri." It is paid for, as you know, by the taxpayers' dollars, which I consider a great investment of we the people's hard earned tax dollars -- not a waste, like millions of taxpayer dollars by our corrupt and wasteful government. The "Manual" is a directory and very informative for we Missourians, giving us every department, what their job entails, so we know what is expected, as well as what we the Missourians deserve from our elected officials. Employees' salaries are also exposed for all state official and employees with titles revealed. Ah! To know where some of our hard earned tax dollars are going! The 'Manual" is a great source of Missouri's history -- yesterday, today, & hope for tomorrow -- so interesting to read and look at wonderful pictures. It is educational and very knowledgeable. "Blue book" available online -- wonderful for those who have computers -- I do not have a computer, don't want one -- no time to sit at all day -- I have work to do that a computer cannot possibly do for me -- plus no time to go to the library and use the computer to read "manual." It is much simpler to go to a shelf at home, grab the book -- read, look up info I'm in need of, or want to know about, regardless of power outages or failure -- still have candles or battery operated lighting to carry on. With a computer, unless you're rich enough to afford a generator to continue power, you are absolutely in the dark -- Amen! I dare to say, that the majority of our Missouri citizens are not aware and not informed of this "Blue Book" that they are so entitled to have in their hands to look and review what should be going on within our government for we the people of Missouri. After all, we the taxpayer pay to have this very important "Blue book" whether in hand or online (not my choice) to read and be knowledgeable about our history and government operations and their sworn duty to serve we the people of Missouri to the rightful, honest, fullest lawful degree with the help of God. We the people (taxpayers) definitely deserve and expect this. As Dr. Albert Einstein once said, "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning." I am an American born natural citizen. God put me here for a purpose -- hopefully I will be allowed to fulfill that purpose. As an American, I do have a CHOICE. I pray that the "Blue Book" continues to be printed in book form -- so I can continue to pick up, hold in my God-given two hands and read at my leisure, becoming more knowledgeable about the goings-on in our Great State of Missouri. My vote is to continue printing our wonderful, informative "Official Manual State of Missouri" in book form, along with informing the people (taxpayers) it is available to them by contacting the Secretary of State's office and asking them to mail it to you. It's as simple as that! Do it now -- don't wait! Be informed as to what our expectations are from our government. If you do not act now, you will still continue to miss out on important information you have been entitled to all this time. Get busy, order your book now. I am always for and thinking about we the people (taxpayers). What are you thinking, knowing what you know now about my letter? Please do not delay -- take action NOW. You, Gov. Nixon, ignored me on a legitimate consumer complaint when you were Missouri Attorney General -- please don't ignore me on this important and necessary matter.
