Sheridan Shamrocks Line Up Community Service Projects

Sheridan Shamrocks 4-H Club met on Monday, March 14 at Sheridan Grocery and Cafe. Liz Lyle called the meeting to order at 4:08 p.m. Kristen New led the pledges. Alysa Lyle provided the secretary and treasurer reports which were approved. Donations from the Stitch and Chatter Club and Vicky and Larry Murphy were announced. Thank you cards were signed and members expressed verbal appreciation for the donations. Bylaws were adopted as written. Motion was made and approved to let the adults decide on a fundraiser. Karla Parman and the older members will organize a letter writing campaign for the Bags of Hope project. Along with the letter writing, Marybeth Taute will allow the club to place a donation jar and a donation box at the cafe. Karla also updated the club about summer camp opportunities. She invited everyone to attend the presentation of the Monsanto Grant on Tuesday, March 29 at 4 p.m. at the courthouse in Grant City. Appreciation was expressed for Hardy Farms for nominating the 4-H Council for the grant. The adults decided to hold a bake sale during the city wide yard sales in May. The club will also hold a biscuit and gravy breakfast at the cafe on Saturday, June 25. The next meeting date was set for April 4 at 4 p.m. at the cafe. Members should bring their nominations for Sheridan's Citizen of the Year. The meeting was adjourned at 4:31 p.m. Members present, in addition to those already mentioned, were Becca Parman, Daniel Parman, Levi Cassavaugh, Megan Cassavaugh, Allison Larison, Taylor Sanders, Maddie Taute, Lindajoy Petersen, Matthew Petersen, Elias Alarcon, Andrew Alarcon, Isaac Alarcon, and Christopher Alarcon. Adults present, other than those already mentioned, included Ramona Parman, Christie Petersen, and Miranda Lyle.
