138 Miles of Minor Roads to be Resurfaced in NW Missouri

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that 138 miles of minor routes in Northwest Missouri will be resurfaced this year due to internal operations savings. The Department is working toward a five-year direction that calls for cutting costs, with the goal of keeping major highways in good condition and improving minor roads. Last year, The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission approved a statewide allocation of funding to improve minor routes. Twelve percent of the allocation, $7.5 million, was dedicated to Northwest Missouri. As Spring approaches, many of these projects will soon be underway and contractors will begin projects, as weather permits. The following minor routes have been identified for resurfacing this construction season:

* Route Z from US 169 to Platte County (length: 1.76 miles)

* Route PP from US 69 to I-35 and from I-35 to MO 33 (length: 5.03 miles)

* Route V from US 69 to MO 33 (length: 4.85 miles)

* Route A from Route H to MO 116 (length: 6.0 miles) * U.S. 69 from Loop 35 to I-35 (length: 4.50 miles)
