Sheridan Shamrocks Assisting in Bags of Hope Project for Cancer Survivors

Sheridan Shamrocks 4-H Club is assisting the Stitch & Chatter Club, Vicky Murphy, and Karen Wray with the Bags of Hope project. Bags of Hope provides bags of magazines, activity books, books, personal care items, and other items for persons receiving chemotherapy. The bags are provided free of charge. The project has grown beyond the Sheridan community and is in need of support.
In an effort to support this great service, the Shamrocks have placed a box at Sheridan Grocery and Cafe for collection of activity books (word searches, crosswords, etc.), books (mystery, romance, etc.), playing cards, magazines, pens, and personal care items (socks, combs, hand sanitizer, lotions, etc.). New items are preferred; however, previously read magazines and books are welcome. If donors prefer, a donation jar is also available at the cafe for monetary donations to support the project.
In prior years, the Shamrocks have given money to the county food bank, the Bags of Hope project, community services, and the Albany FRG group. Highway clean-up, cemetary clean-up, the Widow and Widower's Supper, Valentine's Day cookies, and Thanksgiving cards are some of the many community service projects in which the club has participated.
