Courthouse News for February 9th, 2022

On January 27th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Aaron Darrah (23) of Redding on a charge of Sex Offender Registration Violation (Felony). Bond was set at $5,000, cash only, posted by the defendant.

On January 28th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Wyatt Schamp (27) of Ellston on charges of Theft (Felony) and Burglary (Felony). Bond was set at $20,000, cash only. The Sheriff’s Department says that the charges arose after the defendant allegedly broke into a rural home and stole four firearms. He has also been charged with Criminal Mischief and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent after he allegedly stole a pickup and broke into a business in Diagonal. 

On January 29th, the Ringgold County  Sheriff’s Department arrested Baylee Love (22) of Redding on a charge of DWI, Open Container, and Speeding (74 mph). Bond was set at $1,000. Five passengers were charged with Open Container and released.

On January 29th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Curtis Carroll (43) of Hopkins alleging two counts Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Unlawful Possession of Illegal Weapon. Bond was set at $5,000, cash only.

On February 1st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Alex Lechner (33) of Maryville alleging Sexual Misconduct. Bond was set at $1,000, cash only, later lowered to $50 cash and posted by the defendant.

On February 1st, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Michael Chamberlain (43) of Bethany alleging No Valid License, Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident), No Insurance, and No Seat Belt.

On February 1st, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Kyanna Merritt (30) of Martinsville alleging Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Felony), Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), and Failure to Stop at Stop Sight. Bond was set at $15,000 cash only.

On February 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Brian Cannon (46) of Creston alleging DWI (Felony), and Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On February 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Alejandro Gutierrez (23) of West Des Moines (IA) alleging Speeding (26+ mph over), No Valid License, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On February 3rd, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Christopher Meringa (37) of Bethany alleging DWI.

On February 3rd, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Walker Pittman (26) of Kansas City alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On February 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Sherry Young (44) of Elmo in Nodaway County on charges of Driving While Revoked, No Insurance, and No Plates.

On February 4th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Brad Boyer (23) of Kent (IA) alleging DWI and Leaving the Scene. Bond was set at $5,000, with defendant given leave to post 10% cash.

On February 5th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jason Dukes (41) of Grandview (MO) in Harrison County on charges of DWI, Driving While Revoked, Speeding, and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway.

On February 5th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested David Jones (46) of Lamoni in Harrison County on charges of DWI (Felony), Excessive Window Tint, Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway, and No Valid License. Subsequently, Harrison County Prosecutor filed charges. Bond was set at $15,000, cash only, with defendant given leave to post 10% cash.

On February 5th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Dheyaa Mohammed Ali (42) of Columbia Heights (MN) in Harrison County on charges of Speeding (100 mph), Following Too Closely, and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway.

On February 5th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Oscar Meza (39) of Des Moines in Harrison County on charges of DWI, Speeding, Following Too Closely, and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway.

On February 5th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Justin Parker (40) of Adair (IA) in Ringgold County on a charge of Driving While Revoked. Bond was set at $1,000, cash only.

On February 5th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department printed the following notice regarding unclaimed property recovered by the Sheriff’s Department:

The property listed below has been determined to be abandoned or unclaimed property in the custody of the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office. Any owner or other person possessing a legal or beneficial interest in the reported property below may obtain additional information or make a claim by contacting the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office.

Approx. 10 ft. running gear was seized on 12-28-21 at the intersection of 210th St. and 220th Ave. in Ringgold County.

If the listed property is not claimed within 90 days of this notice, the property may be disposed of according to Iowa law chapter 80.39.

On February 6th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Benjamin Hill (25) of Kellerton on a charge of DWI (3rd). Bond was set at $5,000.

On February 6th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Kameron Hutchison (25) of Maryville alleging Harassment (Felony) and DWI. Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety. 

On February 7th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Sharon Monk (69) of St. Joseph in Gentry County on charges of DWI, Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle, and Failure to Signal.

On February 8th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Casey Thurman alleging two counts Sodomy (Felony). Bond was set at $150,000, cash only.

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
