Northeast Nodaway came into the game with North Harrison Tuesday shorthanded, without Ben Boswell (illness), but everyody else stepped up their game against North Harrison as the Bluejays won 60-28. Dylan McIntyre had 30 points and Auston Pride ate North Harrison alive on the boards with 12, and the green shirts had no answer for the two big men. Colton Swalley chipped in as well. Northeast's ball movement did not suffer at all, as they had 24 assists for the night, compared to only four for North Harrison.
Cooper Cracraft cut the Shamrock deficit to 6-4 early on, but then Dylan McIntyre took over the rest of the first quarter. Auston Pride got a tip and steal and fed him, Zach Pride hit him backdoor, and then McIntyre drove and finished with his left hand after Pride got him the ball again. Colton Swalley got loose behind the Shamrock defense, and then McIntyre scored from inside to make it 16-4 late in the first quarter; he had 12 points in the first period.
Wade Briggs hit a halfcourt three pointer to give the Shamrocks a glimmer of hope and cut it to 16-7, and then Nick Babinski cut it to 16-9 with 4:54 left in the first after Cooper Cracraft got a steal and Tyson Gibson got him the ball. That broke a three minute scoreless stretch by both teams. But then Lane Dack got a putback, Colton Swalley got two free throws, Auston Pride scored from inside, and Dylan McIntyre got to the rim in the closing seconds to put Northeast up 24-11 after the half. Zach Pride took two charges on defense in the quarter.
Dylan McIntyre got loose in transition for the Bluejays to start the second half. Wade Briggs countered with a free throw, but then the bottom dropped out as McIntyre got a putback, Dylan aired one out to Colton Swalley, Dylan got a steal, Auston Pride hit a free throw, Colton Swalley hit Auston Pride in transition, Dylan McIntyre got loose in transition and then scored off a drive to make it 41-12 before Wade Briggs finally broke the run with a 3-pointer.
North Harrison began fighting back by working the offensive glass, getting a 3-point play from Matthew Heintz at the end of the third and getting a pair of putbacks from Tyson Gibson to start the fourth. Brandon Hamilton's free throws cut it to 50-24 at the 4:53 mark of the fourth, but then Dylan McIntyre got loose with his left hand again and Zach Pride hit a 3-pointer to trigger wholesale substitutions and make it 55-24. Boston Adwell added a baseline shot and Trenton Hartley added a 3-pointer for the Bluejays down the stretch.
