Aydan Gladstone Scores 23, Jackson Runde Gets Double Double as Tiger Winning Streak Reaches Five

Worth County's boys got some newfound consistency Wednesday, winning their fifth straight game and beating Pattonsburg 77-46 during their Courtwarming. Worth County got off to a fast start; Pattonsburg sought to make a stand, but the Tigers were able to pull away in the second half and then hold off a Panther attempt to get back into the game. Aydan Gladstone had 23 points in the win, while Jackson Runde had 20 points and 13 boards. Gladstone nearly had a double double of his own, getting 9 assists. Worth County was able to get to the rim at will; out of their 77 points, 33 were off drives to the basket.

Jackson Runde had the hot hand early for the Tigers, getting a 3-pointer and controlling the glass, adding a couple of putbacks. Levi Cassavaugh scored off a drive, as did Aydan Gladstone as the Tigers scored the first 11 points of the game.

For the rest of the first half, Zane Reed did all he could to keep the Panthers in the game, sparking a rally that cut the Tiger lead to 13-6. But then Grant Cameron hit Aydan Gladstone, who finished a drive, and then Gladstone got a block that led to a Grant Cameron layup on the other end to put the Tigers up 17-6 after one.

Reed and the Panthers twice cut it to eight in the second quarter, and he hit a 3-pointer to cut it to 28-19 at the 2:59 mark. But then Aydan Gladstone hit Levi Cassavaugh for three and Tyler New scored off a drive to make it 33-19. Daltyn Sperry's 3-pointer cut it to 33-22, but then Aydan Gladstone hit Tyler New for three and then Grant Cameron in transition to make it 38-22 at the half.

The second half started off well for Worth County as Gladstone hit two free throws and then got to the rim again to make it 42-22 with 6:48 left. Daltyn Sperry went backdoor and Zane Reed added a free throw to cut it to 42-25, but then Aydan Gladstone hit Jackson Runde for three to break the run. Gladstone and New scored off drives, while Tyler New secured a defensive board that got knocked into the back court and found Aydan Gladstone for a fast break as the Tigers led by 53-25 at the 3:06 mark of the third. Sperry hit two free throws, but Gladstone scored a free throw and then added another drive to make it 56-27.

Pattonsburg made a charge late in the third quarter as both Gage Iddings and Sam Coin got the hot hand for them, each scoring four during an 8-0 run that cut it to 56-35. But then Jackson Runde got a defensive board and went coast to coast to close out the third quarter to put Worth County up 58-35.

Worth County restored order to start the fourth as Aydan Gladstone scored off a drive, Grant Cameron hit a free throw, and Jackson Runde got a putback to make it 63-35 at the 6:06 mark. The teams traded blows down the stretch before Grant Cameron got loose in transition after Jackson Runde aired one out, Aydan Gladstone hit Jackson Runde for three in transition, and Gladstone scored off a drive to make it 73-41.

Aydan Gladstone had 23 for the Tigers. Jackson Runde had 20, Tyler New 14, Grant Cameron 9, Levi Cassavaugh 5, and Jackson Smith, Cannon Fletcher, and Jace Cousatte 2 each.

Aydan Gladstone had 2 blocks and Jase Latham 1.

Jackson Runde had 13 boards. Jackson Smith had 8, Tyler New 7, Grant Cameron 5, Aydan Gladstone and Levi Cassavaugh 4, and Jace Cousatte 1 each.

Aydan Gladstone had 9 assists. Tyler New and Jackson Runde had 7 each, Grant Cameron 2, and Levi Cassavaugh 1.

Aydan Gladstone, Jackson Smith, and Levi Cassavaugh had 2 each. Jackson Runde, Grant Cameron, and Brent Harris had 1 each.

Grant Cameron had 4 steals. Levi Cassavaugh, Tyler New, Jackson Smith, Jackson Runde, Aydan Gladstone, and Cannon Fletcher all had 1.
