Courthouse News for February 2nd, 2022

On January 26th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested David Stewart (57) of Arena (WI) in Harrison on a Florida Felony Probation Violation Warrant.

On January 26th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Lauren Harrison (72) of Emmetsburg (IA) alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving.

On January 27th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Lindsay Martin (36) of Holland (IA) in Harrison County on a charge of No Valid License and a Cass County Warrant (Traffic Violation).

On January 27th, Special Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges in Worth County against Angela Larison (38) of Sheridan alleging DWI, Failure to Signal, Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway, and No Seat Belt.

On January 28th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 1999 Freightliner drive by Montora Johnson (38) of Waterloo (IA) was southbound on I-38 six miles north of Eagleville at around 4:13 am while a 2015 Freightliner driven by Thomas Einerson (58) of Olivia (MN) was northbound. The left front tire of the 1999 Freightliner detached, crossed the median, and struck the 2015 Freightliner. The 1999 Freightliner came to a controlled stop. The 2015 Freightliner traveled off the west side, crossed the median, and came to rest facing north, partially blocking the southbound lanes. Einerson was seriously injured and was life flighted to Des Moines. Johnson was not injured.

On January 28th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Tanner Sims (30) of Bethany alleging Burglary (Felony) and Domestic Assault (Felony). Bond was set at $50,000, cash only.

On January 29th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested William Powell of Diagonal on a charge of Failure to Appear (Public Intoxication). He is being held on no bond until seen by a magistrate. 

On January 30th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Kiera Kueker (20) of Independence in Nodaway County on a charge of DWI.

On January 30th, at around 10:04 pm, a police chase near Arkoe resulted in an injury accident. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2010 Nissan Versa driven by Justin Aiton (19) of Oak Grove was westbound on 330th Street and 71 fleeing from law enforcement when he struck a DOT sign after running off the roadway. He continued southbound on 71, traveled into the median, and then began traveling northbound on 71. He came to a controlled stop. He and a passenger, Lillian Beverly (18) of Oak Grove, received minor injuries and were taken to Mosaic in Maryville. Subsequently, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Aiton on charges of Resisting Arrest, DWI (Drugs), Speeding (26+ mph over), Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle, and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway (Accident). Beverly was not charged.

On January 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Michael Butler (29) of Maryville alleging Domestic Assault (Felony) and Kidnapping. Bond was set at $30,000, cash or corporate surety.

On January 31st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Kyanna Merritt (29) of Martinsville in Harrison County on charges of Failure to Stop, Possession of Controlled Substance (Meth), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On January 31st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Gary Gann (49) of Conception Junction alleging Possession of Controlled Substance. Bond was denied.

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
