Hopkins CBC Raises $2,058 from Picnic Raffle

The Hopkins CBC raised $2,058 from its Picnic Raffle. Multiple items were raffled off; the item that sold the most tickets was the Kansas City Royals tickets, which sold 109 raffle tickets. Other hot items were a picnic table, 92 tickets; a Daily Forum subscription, 44 tickets; a child's drum set, 32 tickets; and a wishing well, 50 tickets.

CBC President Donna Spalding gave credit to many people who helped make their event a success. The Tobacco Shop donated the building across from the bar for them to use. The CBC now has raised $6,935.27 towards the walking trail. The estimated price tag is around $7,500, with the proposed fence running at around $33,000.

The next major event for the CBC will be the 2nd annual Barn Quilt Trail. The date for that will be September 18th, with a rain date set for the 25th. The CBC will also send representatives to the state conference, which will be held October 23rd and 24th.
