Farm Service Agency’s DCP and ACRE Signup Ends June 1, 2011

Mark Cadle, Executive Director of the Worth County USDA Farm Service Agency, (FSA) reminds producers that June 1, 2011, is the deadline for the 2011 Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE) Program or the traditional Direct and Counter-cyclical Program (DCP). This is the annual farm program that a majority of Worth County producers participate in. Annual contracts are required to be signed to receive program benefits. June 1, 2011 is a mandatory deadline for all participants. Due to budget restraints individual notices or post cards will not be sent to individual producers.

“It is critical for producers to begin the enrollment process now,” said Cadle. “Now is the time to call or stop by your local FSA office to make an appointment so you can get everything you need completed and signed by the June 1 deadline.”

All signatures of producers receiving a share in DCP/ACRE payments are required by the June 1, 2011, deadline.

Producers can apply for these programs at any USDA Service Center or online. To access the online service, producers must have an active USDA eAuthentication Level 2 account. To get a Level 2 account, producers must complete an online registration form at http://www.eauth.egov.usda.gov and then visit the local USDA Service Center to verify their identity.

For more information about the DCP/ACRE programs, visit the Worth County FSA office or go to www.fsa.usda.gov. You may also call the office at 660-564-3341.
