Worth County Holds Elementary Concert

Worth County held its elementary concert Friday afternoon as all the grades from preschool to 6th grade participated. The preschool, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade performed "Wild Things -- A Big Zoo Revue." The 3rd and 4th Grades did "A Celtic Salute" while the 5th and 6th graders did "Patriotic Words we Live By." Teacher Jim Spiers directed on the piano while student assistants were Alaina Freeman, Zach Ragan, Dakota Hill, Claire Andrews, Cody Straight, and Sam Martell. Grandparents Day was also held that day.

Among songs sung by the Preschool through 2nd graders were "Amazon Rock," "The Penguin & The Flamingo," "Never Polka with a Purcupine," "Raptor Rap," "Go Ape!" "Animal Limbo," "Animal Identity," "Cool Cats," and "Hippo Hop." Rapping during the Raptor Rap song were Arianna Baxley, Keelin Engel, Brett Hightshoe, and Jillian Hardy.

Songs sung by the 3rd and 4th graders were "Irish Lullaby," "Everybody's Irish," and "Irish Dance." Soloists were Lauren Moore, Avery Gabriel, and Trenton Gabriel. Dancers were Abbi Caddenhead, Kennedy Galanakis, Grace McElvain, Ashlyn Barnett, Zoey Morin, Anna Gladstone, Kristin New, Regan Allee, Haley Hunt, Riley Jo Houts, Merrideth Spiers, Caleb Parman, Jacob New, Issac Alarcon, Anthony Baxley, Bryant McCord, Tanner Parman, and Liz Lyle. Members of the Tremble Ensemble were Kaylee McElvain, Sadie Dye, Natalie Carlson, John Mancuso, Hannah McElvain, Shelia Harker, Mattie Downing, Jeremy Wimer, Wyatt Frese, Dreven Brown, Hayden Holmes, Ethan Thomas, Jenna Miller, and Jarrett Hargrave. Choreographers were Merrideth and Jim Spiers and dance assistant was Akaysha Ragan.

The 5th and 6th graders did a patriotic show with the theme "The Words we Live By." Numbers they did included "The Words we Live By," "The Preamble to the Constitution," "The New Colossus," "That's the Golden Rule," "The Star-Spangled Banner," "Pledge of Allegiance," "Quotes of My Friend Ben," "The Gettysburg Address," "Just Like Martin Luther King (I have a Dream)," and a reprise of "Words we Live By." Narrators were Victoria Moore and Kristen Ross; descant ensemble members were Alexi Beagle, Kendall Miller, Dominique Findley, Victoria Moore, Emma Novak, Hannah Robinson, Kristen Ross, Jacob Wimer, Breanna Harker, and Aubrey Staton.
