The council is in the process of getting bids for mowing the City Park this year. (See ad in this week's print edition of the Sheridan Express)
Jim Bullock requested help for a tube in the alley between his house and Wilma Allee's. It needs a steel tube since trash trucks go through there on a weekly basis. The tube is plugged up and there is not enough of a ditch for the water to drain out of. Mayor Leland Wake said he would check it out when the weather warmed up.
Water Superintendent David Parman said that the city dealt with a major water leak at Chuck Zook's in the middle of the night. He reported that he, Bill Parman, and Mary Jo and Johnathan Riley battled the leak; Bill Parman found the leak and the four of them worked through the night to get it fixed. There was also a major leak by Roy Allee's where the water was running out of the south side of his house. A pair of smaller leaks were found near Jim Bullock's house. Mayor Leland Wake said that he wanted the city to invest more in equipment for the water department. He said that the city had a lot fewer water problems than the year before.
The council voted to charge $20 per load for gravel deliveries to city residents. The backhoe would be used instead of the tractor and it carries twice the load. Wake reported that the tractor had broken a head gasket and that the rear end was falling out. He said that he was looking to sell the old tractor for parts and then look for a new tractor for the city.
Councilwoman Mary Jo Riley said that she was not sure that the city had gotten their 2010 CART allotment. The city will check with County Clerk Roberta Owens on that.
