Kristin Herndon Third in 300 Hurdles at Stanberry

To show that her previous showing in Rock Port was no accident, Kristin Herndon posted another strong third place finish in the Stanberry meet Friday in the 300 Hurdles. She got a time of 53 seconds.

In other results, Mackenzie Finney was fifth in the High Jump with a jump of 4’8”. Herndon was second in the Triple Jump, getting a jump of 32’2½”.

For the boys, Duke Ingraham medalled in both the 1600 and the 3200. He was fifth in the 1600 with a time of 5:22.1. He was fourth in the 3200 with a time of 12:11.9.

Kristin Herndon’s Strong Showing Highlights Musket Track at Rock Port

Kristin Herndon’s strong showing in the 300 Hurdles highlighted the North/West Nodaway Muskets day at Rock Port Tuesday. The girls got 10 team points for the day, while the boys got four.

Herndon placed third in the event with a time of 50.68. She has established herself as one of the top 300 hurdlers in the area next year along with Anna Gladstone and Morgan Beagle (Worth County), Hannah Wedlock (Mound City), and Paige West (NEN). Abbie Hale (Rock Port) won the event; she will graduate after this year.

Mackenzie Finney was fourth in the High Jump with a height of 4’10”.

For the boys, Duke Ingraham was fifth in the 1600 with a time of 5:27.89. He was also fifth in the 3200 with a time of 12:08.11.

Junior High Musket Teams Compete at North Andrew

Both Junior High Musket teams competed at the track meet in North Andrew Thursday. The girls were 13th with 14.33 team points. The boys were 6th with 23 points in a crowded field.

Felicia Wyllie was 5th in the 200 on the girls side with a time of 30.92. The Muskets placed two in the 400. Wyllie was third with a time of 1:10.43. Jacquelyn Cline was fourth with a time of 1:11.52.

Wyllie was tied for fourth in the High Jump with a jump of 4 feet to get her third medal.

On the boys side, Will Cordell was third in the 400 with a time of 1:03.28. Wyatt Ingraham was third in the 800 with a time of 2:28.92. Dawson Fast was fourth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 20.13.

Wyatt Ingraham was sixth in the High Jump with a jump of 4’10”.

Hunter Carlson was third in the Shot Put with a throw of 34’11½”.

Dawson Fast Victorious in Hurdles at Tarkio Quad Meet

Both Musket teams finished fourth at the quad meet in Tarkio Thursday. On the girls side, East Atchison ran away with 80 points. South/Nodaway Holt had 55.5, Rock Port 37.5, and North/West Nodaway 19. On the boys side, East Atchison edged out the Spartans with 73 team points to 71 for South/Nodaway Holt. Rock Port edged out North/West Nodaway for third, getting 25 points to 23 for the Muskets. The highlight of the day was when Dawson Fast got first for the boys squad, winning the 100 Hurdles with a time of 19.40 and getting a personal best.

On the girls side, Piper Hunt was second in the 200 with a personal best of 31.45. Felicia Wyllie was fourth with a time of 32.45. Wyllie was second in the 400 with a time of 1:13.57. Jacquelyn Cline was fourth with a time of 1:16.77. Regan Hagey was fourth in the 800 with a time of 3:25.80 and third in the 1600 with a time of 7:00.78. Hunt was third in the 100 Hurdles with a personal best time of 20.76.

The 4x100 Relay Team of Piper Hunt, Jacquelyn Cline, Kelsey Barcus, and Felicia Wyllie was second with a personal best time of 1:01.79.

On the boys side, Will Cordell was fourth in the 200 with a time of 29.75. He was third in the 400 with a time of 1:04.91. Wyatt Ingraham was fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:43.41. The Muskets placed two in the 1600 as Trace Coate was second with a time of 6:03.70. Corbyn Rucker was fourth with a time of 6:14.76.

The 4x100 team of Dawson Fast, Wyatt Ingraham, Damian Dailey, and Will Cordell was third with a time of 58.18. The 4x400 team of Corbyn Rucker, Andrew Richards, Trace Coate, and Damian Dailey was third with a time of 5:21.36.

Wyatt Ingraham was third in the High Jump with a personal best height of 4’8”.

Hunter Carlson was third in the Shot Put with a throw of 35’9¾”.

Musket Girls Score 13, Boys 5 at Conference Meet

The North/West Nodaway Muskets scored 13 team points, while the boys scored 5 at the 275 Conference Meet in Tarkio last Tuesday.

Bailey Tate was fifth in the 3200 with a time of 13:59.72.

The 4x400 team of Audrey Trimble, Paige Hagey, Olivia Miller, and Kristin Herndon was fourth with a time of 4:44.03. The 4x800 team of Paige Hagey, Bailey Tate, Ashley Thompson, and Kristin Herndon was third with a time of 11:05.65.

Ashley Thompson was sixth in the Shot Put with a throw of 30’5½”.

For the boys, the 4x100 team of Weston Carter, Levi Hoyt, David Hull, and Dakota Smyser was sixth with a time of 49.81. The 4x200 team of Weston Carter, David Hull, Korbin Koch, and Levi Hoyt was fourth with a time of 1:44.65.

JH Musket Girls Get 19 at Tarkio

The North/West Nodaway Junior High Musket Girls posted 19 points at Tarkio last Tuesday.
Abbi Marsh was third in the 100 with a time of 14.31.

Felicia Poppa was third in the 400 with a time of 1:09.53.

The 4x100 team of Mackenzie Stuart, Erin Cook, Saylor Brown, and Abbi Marsh was sixth with a time of 1:00.60. The 4x200 team of Mackenzie Stuart, Karissa Oberhauser, Saylor Brown, and Felicia Poppa was sixth with a time of 2:09.03. The 4x400 team of Mackenzie Stuart, Jadon Dobbins, Felicia Poppa, and Saylor Brown was sixth with a time of 4:57.46.

Saylor Brown tied for fourth in the High Jump with a jump of 4 feet.

Junior High Tiger Boys Outduel North/West Nodaway in Tarkio

Worth County’s Junior High Tiger boys outdueled North/West Nodaway’s boys in the Tarkio meet last Tuesday, coming away with 84 points to win a crowded field. North/West Nodaway had 75, South/Nodaway Holt had 74, Mound City 65, Rock port 64, East Atchison 44, Platte Valley 22, Albany 22, North Andrew 14, and St. Gregory’s 1.

Worth County started off well in the field events as Lucas Wake posted fifth in the High Jump with a jump of 4’8”. Nate Adwell held off Tony Osburn (Mound City) and won the Pole Vault with a vault of 10 feet to Osburn’s 9’6”. Aydan Gladstone was sixth with a vault of 7’6”. Andrew Alarcon was second in the Long Jump with a jump of 16’11½”. Alex Rinehart was fifth with a jump of 15’8”.
The Tigers placed two in the Triple Jump as Alex Rinehart won with a jump of 33’3¾” and Josh Freed was sixth with a jump of 28’3¾”. Reid Gabriel was second in the Discus with a throw of 114’2”.

The only points from North/West Nodaway in the field events came from Gabe Goff. He was fourth in the Shot Put with a throw of 32’1½”. Goff was third in the Discus with a throw of 114 feet. The question was whether the middle and long distance contingent would put together enough points to catch the Tigers.

Andrew Alarcon was edged out three times in his events. He was second to Joey Herron (Rock Port in the 100, posting 12.15 to Herron’s 12.07. Alarcon was second by an even closer margin in the 200, posting 25.22 to Herron’s 25.19. And he was second in the 400, getting a time of 1:00.85 to Isaac Reyer (South/Nodaway Holt), who won with a time of 58.90. North/West Nodaway countered with Grant Adkins placing fourth in the 100 with a time of 13.04, and Karson Oberhauser placing sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:03.48.

The question was whether the 800, 1600, and relay contingents for North/West Nodaway could get enough points to catch the Tigers at the end. They came up just short as Worth County got just enough points to maintain their lead.

Preston Bateman and Duke Ingraham were 1-2 for the Muskets in the 800 with a time of 2:27.27 for Bateman and 2:28.49 for Ingraham. Josh Freed was sixth for Worth County with a time of 2:41.18.
The Muskets collected 16 more points in the 1600 as Ingraham won with a time of 5:18.22 and Bateman was third with a time of 5:25.77.

In the 100 Hurdles, Grant Adkins was second for the Muskets with a time of 17.63, but Worth County placed two in that event. Jace Cousatte was fourth with a time of 17.99, while Aydan Gladstone was fifth with a time of 18.90.

North/West Nodaway was second in the 4x100, but had to contend with a strong Rock Port squad. The Musket team of Grant Adkins, Will Cordell, Bryan Hyatt, and Gabe Goff was second with a time of 55.87. Worth County was able to get on the board in the event as the team of Aydan Gladstone, Jeshua Blaine, Josh Freed, and Jace Cousatte was sixth with a time of 1:00.75.

And Worth County was able to come up with some critical points in the other two relay events. Worth County edged out North/West Nodaway in the 4x200. The Tiger team of Aydan Gladstone, Reid Gabriel, Alex Rinehart, and Nate Adwell was fourth with a time of 1:57.79, while the Musket team of Dawson Fast, Noah Johnson, Will Cordell, and Bryan Hyatt was fifth with a time of 1:58.74. The Muskets were second in the 4x400 as the team of Karson Oberhauser, Wyatt Ingraham, Cody Cline, and Duke Ingraham posted a time of 4:26.63. But Worth County was right behind, getting third as the team of Jace Cousatte, Reid Gabriel, Alex Rinehart, and Nate Adwell posted third with a time of 4:28.52.

Musket Girls 8th, Boys 9th at Stanberry

The North/West Nodaway Muskets collected 16 team points on the girls side and 19 on the boys side at Stanberry last Tuesday.

Paige Hagey was sixth in the 800 for the girls with a time of 2:46.6.

Bailey Tate was sixth in the 3200 with a time of 14:28.

The 4x400 team of Aubrey Trimble, Paige Hagey, Olivia Miller, and Kristin Herndon was third with a time of 4:45. The 4x800 team of Paige Hagey, Bailey Tate, Ashley Thompson, and Kristin Herndon was fourth with a time of 11:49.

Ashley Thompson was fourth in the Shot Put with a throw of 30’8¼”.

For the boys, David Hull was fifth in the 100 with a time of 12.2. Hull was fourth in the 200 with a time of 25.2.

Weston Carter was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:26.9.

Dakota Smyser was third in the Long Jump with a leap of 17’10¾”. Smyser was third in the Triple Jump as well, getting a jump of 36’1¼”.

Dakota Smyser Wins Long Jump at Tarkio

Dakota Smyser won the Long Jump at the Tarkio Relays to highlight North/West Nodaway’s efforts for the afternoon. The girls posted 7 team points, while the boys posted 11.

For the girls, Isabel Metzger was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:59.20.

Bailey Tate was third in the 3200 with a time of 14:24.47.

Dakota Smyser accounted for all of the points on the boys side that day. In the Long Jump, he won a crowded field by getting a jump of 18’3”. There were four athletes within three inches of him. Lemar Hill (Osborn) had a jump of 18’1”, Gavin Abbott (Rock Port) had a jump of 18’¾”, and Caleb Parman had a jump of 18’½”.

Dakota Smyser was also sixth in the Triple Jump, where he got a jump of 34’3”.

Musket Boys 7th at Squaw Creek

The North/West Nodaway Boys posted a seventh place finish at Squaw Creek (Mound City) last Monday with 32 team points, while the girls posted 12 team points.

For the girls, Felicia Poppa was third in the 400 with a personal best time of 1:12.20.

The 4x100 team of Mackenzie Stuart, Jadon Dobbins, Saylor Brown, and Abbi Marsh was fifth with a time of 1:01.48. The 4x200 team of Mackenzie Stuart, Karissa Oberhauser, Saylor Brown, and Felicia Poppa was third with a time of 2:10.28.

Jadon Dobbins posted a personal best in the Triple Jump, where she finished fifth with a throw of 25 feet.

Karissa Oberhauser was sixth in the Shot Put with a personal best time of 26'1", beating her previous best by over 2 feet.

On the boys side, Grant Adkins was sixth in the 100 and posted a personal best time of 13.48.

Bryan Hyatt was third in the 200 with a time of 29.07.

Cody Cline came close to a personal best in the 400 and finished fifth with a time of 1:07.17.

Duke Ingraham knocked five seconds off his time in the 800 and finished third with a time of 2:35.60. He also finished fourth in the 1600 with a time of 5:45.09.

Grant Adkins took .36 of a time off his previous best and posted third in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 18.25.

The 4x100 team of Grant Adkins, Karson Oberhauser, Bryan Hyatt, and Gabe Goff was sixth with a time of 56.68. The 4x400 team of Karson Oberhauser, Will Cordell, Cody Cline, and Preston Bateman was third with a time of 4:38.66.

North/West Nodaway Junior High Boys Win Three Way Meet

The North/West Nodaway Musket boys won a three way track meet with Rock Port and East Atchison in Tarkio Thursday. The Muskets scored 55.25 points, followed by Rock Port with 43.5 and East Atchison with 43.25. On the girls side, Rock Port won with 59 points, followed by 53 for East Atchison and 26 for North/West Nodaway.

For the girls, Abbi Marsh easily won the 100 with a time of 14.60, which was .42 of a second ahead of her nearest competitor. Mackenzie Stuart was third with a time of 15.17.

Saylor Brown was third in the 400 with a time of 1:13.15.

Reagan Hagey was second in the 1600 with a time of 6:50.15.

The 4x100 team won as the team of Mackenzie Stuart, Jadon Dobbins, Saylor Brown, and Abbi Marsh got a time of 1:00.95.

Saylor Brown won the High Jump with a jump of 3’10”.

Jadon Dobbins was second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 24’4.5”.

Karissa Oberhauser was fourth in the Discus with a throw of 57’2”.

The boys placed three in the 100. Grant Adkins was second with a time of 13.50. He was followed by Bryan Hyatt with a time of 13.86, and Gabe Goff with a time of 14.33.

Hyatt was fourth in the 200 with a time of 28.43.

The boys placed three in the 400. Karson Oberhauser was second with a time of 1:04.86. Cody Cline was third with a time of 1:07.30. Will Cordell was fourth with a time of 1:07.87.

The boys secured the top three places in the 800. Duke Ingraham won with a time of 2:46.34. Will Cordell was second with a time of 2:49.37, while Wyatt Ingraham was third with a time of 2:50.65.

The boys ran the table in the 1600. Preston Bateman won with a time of 5:43.82. Duke Ingraham was second with a time of 5:51.73. Hunter Dawson was third with a time of 6:03.31, while Dakota Wray was fourth with a time of 6:43.78.

Grant Adkins won the 100 Hurdles with a time of 18.21.

The 4x100 team of Grant Adkins, Karson Oberhauser, Bryan Hyatt, and Gabe Goff was second with a time of 54.63. The 4x200 team of Dawson Fast, Noah Johnson, Hunter Dawson, and Will Cordell was also second with a time of 2:04.16. The 4x400 team of Karson Oberhauser, Tyler Blay, Cody Cline, and Preston Bateman was second with a time of 4:37.34.

Karson Oberhauser was third in the High Jump with a height of 4’6”. Preston Bateman was tied for fourth with a height of 4’4”.

Dakota Wray was second in the Triple Jump with a distance of 27’1”.

Gabe Goff was third in the Discus with a throw of 91’3”.

Musket Boys Finish Fifth at Tiger Early Bird

The North/West Nodaway Junior High Muskets finished fifth on the boys side with 46 points and got 9 team points on the girls side at the Worth County Early Bird last Tuesday.

On the girls side, Abbi March was fifth in the 100 with a time of 14.84.

Saylor Brown was sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:12.42.

The 4x100 team of Mackenzie Stuart, Karissa Oberhauser, Saylor Brown, and Abbi Marsh was fourth with a time of 1:00.97. The 4x200 relay team of Stuart, Oberhauser, Brown, and Marsh was fifth with a time of 2:10.03.

On the boys side, Bryan Hyatt was sixth with a time of 29.25 in the 200.

Karson Oberhauser was sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:04.95.

The Muskets secured most of their points in the longer distance events. Wyatt Ingraham was third in the 800 with a time of 2:39.04. Right behind him was  Will Cordell with a time of 2:40.16. Preston Bateman secured North/West Nodaway a win in the 1600 with a time of 5:23.23. Teammate Duke Ingraham was third with a time of 5:33.93.

Grant Adkins was fifth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 19.73.

The 4x100 team of Grant Adkins, Karson Oberhauser, Bryan Hyatt, and Gabe Goff was second in the 4x100 with a time of 54.72. The other relay team to place was the 4x400 team of Karson Oberhauser, Tyler Blay, Cody Cline, and Preston Bateman, which was sixth with a time of 4:32.02.

Karson Oberhauser’s fourth medal was in the High Jump, where he was third with a height of 4’10”.

Gabe Goff was sixth in the Discus with a throw of 86’11”.
