The City of Maryville has selected Tye Parsons as its next Assistant City Manager. Mr. Parsons has more than 25 years of experience in public service, project development, organizational leadership, and community collaboration. He will begin his new position September 29th, 2026.
Mr. Parsons previously served as Grants Coordinator for Northwest Missouri State, coordinating local, regional, state, and federal funding initiatives that secured or facilitated nearly $34 million across 260 projects. Before that, he was Executive Director for the Northwest Missouri Regional Council, overseeing the regional planning commission and services to 40 communities across the five-county region.
He also served on the Maryville City Council, including as Mayor Pro Tempore and Mayor, between 2019 and 2025. During his tenure, the city advanced several major initiatives, including regional 911 consolidation, the South Main Street corridor reconstruction, the Public Safety building, and the new water treatment plant.
Mr. Parsons holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri and a Bachelor of Science from Northwest.
