It is with sadness that the family of Connie Rosalie (Waldeier) Eighmy shares her passing on August 28, 2026, in Saint Joseph, Missouri.
Connie was born September 30, 1945, to Carl Clem Waldeier and Neva Irene (King) in Worth County, Missouri where she also grew up and went to school. Connie went on to attend Northwest Missouri State University, majoring in Education.
As a young adult, Connie placed her trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. While some may have considered Connie shy or timid, her deep faith gave her the courage to share freely with others. This was Connie’s true calling, and she carried it with her into every profession she pursued. Notably, she was the proud owner of the Blue-Ribbon Bakery in Clinton, Missouri. She was a Home Economics teacher, Librarian, and a licensed local pastor for several Methodist churches throughout Northwest Missouri.
Connie placed great value on family relationships and their importance. On August 4, 1966, she was united in marriage to Michael Dean Eighmy. Connie would often recount some of her fondest memories as a youth with “Mama”, “Daddy” and her big brothers (Don and Lorace Waldeier). All of them, along with her infant siblings Delores and Duane, preceded her in death. Her nephew, Donnie Waldeier also predeceased her.
To those who survive her, Connie was a confidante, cheerleader, and caregiver. She spoiled us with her cooking, showered us with handmade gifts, and never ceased to pray for us. This includes “Mikey”, with whom she recently celebrated 60 years of marriage, her sister and best friend, Elaine, her son Nicholas and his wife Sara; and her daughter Carly. Connie’s grandchildren – Josie, Jillian, Jack, and Lisa – were truly four of the most precious people in her life. Connie also shared a special bond with her niece, Cindy and Mike’s siblings and their spouses. Many other nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones will treasure her memory as well.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Connie are invited to pray with someone, prepare a family member’s favorite meal, or simply call a loved one “to just hear their voice”. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. A Graveside service will be held at the Grant City Cemetery following the visitation at the funeral home.
