Dakota Smyser Wins Long Jump at Tarkio

Dakota Smyser won the Long Jump at the Tarkio Relays to highlight North/West Nodaway’s efforts for the afternoon. The girls posted 7 team points, while the boys posted 11.

For the girls, Isabel Metzger was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:59.20.

Bailey Tate was third in the 3200 with a time of 14:24.47.

Dakota Smyser accounted for all of the points on the boys side that day. In the Long Jump, he won a crowded field by getting a jump of 18’3”. There were four athletes within three inches of him. Lemar Hill (Osborn) had a jump of 18’1”, Gavin Abbott (Rock Port) had a jump of 18’¾”, and Caleb Parman had a jump of 18’½”.

Dakota Smyser was also sixth in the Triple Jump, where he got a jump of 34’3”.
