Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for September 2nd, 2026

On August 18th, Cindy Kendrick (46) of Peculiar (MO) pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Stealing. She was fined $250 plus costs by Judge Robert Rice.

On August 18th, Judge Robert Rice ordered the extradition of Lester Tabor (45) of Davenport (IA) to Scott County (IA) to face a Parole Violation charge.

On August 18th, Travis Husing (56) of Tarkio failed to appear in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to face a charge of Violation of Protection Order. A warrant was issued and bond was denied.

On August 18th, Daniel David (40) of Maryville pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI and Operating Vehicle Without Properly Equipped Bumpers. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Robert Rice and Fined $279 plus costs. Defendant must complete SATOP and the Midwest Victim Impact Program. 

On August 18th, Anna Barlow (40) of Clarinda pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Stealing. She was placed on two years probation by Judge Robert Rice. Defendant has made restitution to the victim. Defendant must complete shoplifting education class. 

On August 18th, Michael Jacobs (34) of Maryville failed to appear in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court on a probation violation hearing. The defendant was on probation for Peace Disturbance. Bond was denied.

On August 18th, Melvin Fincher (40) of Rolla failed to appear in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court for his preliminary hearing. A warrant was issued and bond denied. The defendant is charged with two counts of Stealing (Felony). 

On August 18th, Joshua Pyle (22) of Richmond pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI and Driving Without Properly Equipped Bumpers. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Robert Rice. Defendant was fined $500 plus costs. Defendant must complete SATOP and the Midwest Victim Impact Program. 

On August 18th, Amanda Smith (46) of Union Star pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway. She was fined $50.50 plus costs by Judge Robert Rice.

On August 19th, Caden Achterberg (20) of Albany pleaded guilty in Gentry County Associate Circuit Court to charges of Careless & Imprudent Driving and Minor in Possession of Marijuana. He was assessed $415.50 in fines and costs by Judge Joel Miller. 

On August 19th, Lucio Cuveas (39) of Bethany pleaded guilty in Gentry County Associate Circuit Court to charges of Speeding (26+ mph over) and Driving WHile Revoked. He was assessed $636 in fines and costs by Judge Joel Miller. 

On August 19th, Cally Stanton (39) of Independence pleaded guilty in Harrison County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Trespassing. She was placed on two years probation by Judge Jay Hemenway. 

On August 19th, Rex Nash (57) of Independence pleaded guilty in Harrison County Associate CIrcuit Court to a charge of Trespassing. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Jay Hemenway. Defendant may have no contact with Cally Stanton.

On August 19th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against David DeLuna (48) of Albany alleging Peace Disturbance and Assault. 

On August 19th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Ian Albert (18) of Pattonsburg alleging Tampering With Motor Vehicle (Felony). Bond was set at $4,500, cash or corporate surety. An affidavit from the Gentry County Sheriff's Department alleges the defendant stole a dirt bike valued at $7,000.

On August 19th, Harrison County Prosecutor Michael Wulff filed charges against Dillon Bennett (28) of Eagleville alleging Leaving the Scene (Felony). Bond was set at $7,500, cash only. An affidavit from the Bethany Police Department alleges the defendant smashed a utility pole and then left the scene. The damages were estimated at around $1,779.25.

On August 20th, Judge Robert Rice ordered the extradition of Adam Ross (32) of Bedford to Taylor County to face a charge of Domestic Assault.

On August 20th, Judge Robert Rice ordered the extradition of Michaela McDaniel to Johnson County (KS) to face charges of Obstruction of Legal Proceeding and Violation of Protection Order. 

On August 20th, Daniel Score (39) of Bethany pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to charges of Property Damage (Felony), DWI (Felony), No Valid License, and Careless & Imprudent Driving. He was sentenced to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Court retains jurisdiction and the DOC will make recommendations regarding incarceration or probation. Defendant was fined $57.50 and ordered to make $3,560.20 in restitution.

On August 20th, Cody Tucker (32) of Grant City pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to a charge of Burglary. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail by Judge Matthew Krohn.

On August 20th, Jason Brogan (45) of Diamond (MO) pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to two counts of Non-Support (Felony). He was placed on five years probation by Judge Matthew Krohn. Defendant must pay $300 towards the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund, pay $150 per month towards arrearages, and serve 30 days shock time with credit for time served. 

On August 20th, Danny Manyer (24) of Kansas City pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to charges of Tampering with Motor Vehicle (Felony), Driving While Revoked, and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway. He was placed on five years probatoin by Judge Jay Hemenway. Defendant was fined $60.50 and ordered to serve 15 days in jail with credit for time served.

On August 20th, Trenton Hauk (30) of Wayland (MO) pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felony), Possession of Burglary Tools (Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Judge Matthew Krohn, concurrent with each other and consecutive to other cases.

On August 20th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 20 year old Des Moines man was injured after the SUV he was driving struck a traffic arrow board sign on I-35. 

On August 22nd, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against April Ricketson (39) of Kansas City alleging two counts Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was denied. On April 22nd, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Thomas Reed (58) of Independence alleging two counts Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Valid License, No Insurance, Speeding, and No Seat Belt. Bond was set at $25,000 cash only. Defendant must wear drug patch. No contact with co-defendant. On August 25th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed an additional charge against Ricketson alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). 

On August 24th, the Iowa State Highway Patrol reported that a 41 year old Maryville man was killed after the vehicle he was driving left the road, entered a ditch, and struck a tree at the 3100 block of Cole Avenue in Taylor County. 

On August 26th, Judge Rebecca McGinley ordered the extradition of Troy Hurkman (30) of Albany from Gentry County to Yellowstone (MT) to face charges of two counts Bail Jumping, Assault (Strangulation), and Tampering with Communications Device. 

On August 26th, Jordan Bennett (26) of Bethany pleaded guilty in Harrison County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was placed on two years’ probation by Judge Jay Hemenway. Defendant must complete eight hours of parenting classes.

On August 26th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Natalie Fine (44) of King City alleging Assault. 

On August 27th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Philip Loughman (33) of Lenexa (KS) alleging DWI, Speeding (102 mph), and Careless & Imprudent Driving. Bond was set at $10,000, cash only. 

On August 30th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a motorcycle operator from Winterset was killed on Route 46 and F east of Sheridan. The Patrol says that a group of four motorcycles was eastbound on Route 46 when a Bedford operator slowed to turn from 46 to F. The Winterset driver swerved to the left to avoid a collision but still struck the Bedford operator. The Winterset operator was thrown from his motorcycle. The Patrol then says another Bedford motorcycle operator struck the Winterset motorcycle and was injured, thrown from his bike, and taken to Maryville. The other two motorcycle operators were not injured. 

On August 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Deiter filed charges against Jon Shell (55) of Maryville alleging Harassment Motivated by Discrimination (Felony) and Assault Motivated by Discrimination (Felony). Bond was set at $25,000, cash or corporate surety. Judge Robert Rice disqualified himself from the case and Judge Brett Hurst was assigned.

On August 31st, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Jagger Vestal (24) of Stanberry alleging Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Consumption of Alcoholic Beverage While Driving, and Driving While Revoked.

On August 31st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Deiter filed charges against Joseph Wyckoff (30) of St. Joseph alleging Leaving the Scene (Felony, Physical Injury), and Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident). An affidavit from the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department alleges the defendant struck a pedestrian during the Graham Street Fair and then left. Bond was set at $5,000, cash or corporate surety. 

On August 31st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Deiter filed charges against David Masters (41) of Maryville alleging DWI (Felony). Bond was set at $5,000, cash or corporate surety.

On August 31st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Deiter filed charges against David Lynch (52) of Clarinda alleging DWI, Failure to Affix Tab on Plate, and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway. 

On August 31st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that around 1:20 pm, a 2013 Chevy Equinox struck a 2010 Chevy 1500 Pickup, sending it airborne. It then struck a sign. The driver of the pickup, a 28-year-old woman from Derby (KS), and a 72-year-old passenger from Marlin (TX) were injured and taken to Harrison County Hospital. The driver of the Equinox was not injured.

On September 1st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2022 Chevy Box Truck was westbound on 136 three miles west of Stanberry when it traveled off the north side of the roadway, overcorrected, began to skid, returned to the roadway, traveled off the south side, and overturned. The 36-year-old driver from Kansas City was injured and taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
