Tiger Boys Second, Neck and Neck With Panthers; Girls Fifth, Mustang Boys Have Strong Showing

Worth County’s boys were neck and neck with Mound City, the girls finished fifth, and North Nodaway’s boys had a strong showing, getting 42 points at Mound City Friday at the Panther Relays.

For the girls, East Atchison had 121, Rock Port 91, Mound City 84.5, Platte Valley 79, Worth County 67, DeKalb 58, Gallatin 50.5, South Holt 40, Nodaway Valley 34, Stanberry 27, Stewartsville/Osborn 19, NEN 18, Tri-County 14, and North Nodaway 11.

For the boys, Mound City had 122, Worth County 113, Nodaway Valley 83, East Atchison 72, Platte Valley 60, Stanberry 52, Rock Port 44, North Nodaway 42, Tri-County 36, Gallatin 35, DeKalb 30, Stewartsville/Osborn 24, South Holt 8, and NEN 6.

For the girls, Emma Spencer was third in the 100 with a personal best time of 13.33. Brooklyn Richardson was sixth with a time of 14.36. Brylea Paxson was eighth in the 400 with a time of 1:18.08. Paxson was fifth in the 1600 with a time of 6:45.13. 

Riley Ridge was sixth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 19.15. 

The 4x100 team won with a time of 56.20. 

Riley Ridge was second in the High Jump with a height of 4’9¾”. 

The Tigers placed two in the Long Jump. Emma Spencer was fifth with a jump of 13’9”. Rayleigh Smith was sixth with a season best jump of 13’3¾”. Katelyn Fletchall was sixth in the Triple Jump with a personal best 29’5½”. That was better than her previous mark by almost three feet. 

Ali Brown was second in the Discus with a throw of 96 feet. The Tigers placed two in the Javelin. Ali Brown won with a throw of 119 feet. Rylee Ruckman was fifth with a personal best throw of 83’6¼”. 

For the boys, Lucas Frisch was sixth in the 100 with a time of 12.38. The Tigers placed two in the 200. John Galanakis was fourth with a time of 25.15, while Brayden Stevens was seventh with a time of 26.40. Levi Cassavaugh won the 400 with a time of 55.51. 

John Galanakis was fourth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 19.44. The Tigers placed two in the 300 Hurdles. Lucas Frisch was second with a time of 45.70. Sawyer Thurman tried his hand at it and got a sixth place finish of 50.26. 

The 4x100 team was third with a time of 50.14. The 4x200 team won handily by four second with a time of 1:39.12. The 4x400 team kept improving and kept moving up the ladder with a second place finish of 3:48.43, a personal best. 

John Galanakis was fifth in the High Jump with a height of 5’6”. Landon Moser was fifth in the Long Jump with a jump of 17’7½”. 

The Tigers placed two in the Triple Jump. Tyler New tried his hand at it and got third with a jump of 36’7¼”. Landon Moser was fifth with a jump of 34’5½”. 

Worth County was 1-2 in the Shot Put. Jase Latham won with a throw of 47’3¼”. Elias Alarcon was second with a throw of 37’10¼”. Alarcon was second in the Discus with a throw of 123’3¼”. Tyler New won the Javelin with a throw of 138 feet. 

NEN

For the girls, Mylee Wilmes got a personal best in the 200 in the prelims with a time of 29.83. She finished seventh in the finals with a time of 30.49. Mylee was fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:10.08. 

Baylie Busby was third in the High Jump with a height of 4’9¾”, matching a personal best and one quarter of an inch away from Michelle Schulte’s school record. Mylee got her fourth medal of the day in the Long Jump, finishing eighth with a jump of 12’4½”. 

Dalanie Auffert was sixth in the Shot Put with a throw of 29 feet, close to a personal best. Baylie Busby tried her hand at the Javelin and got eighth on her first try, with a throw of 77’11¾”. 

For the boys, Kyler Scadden got a personal best in the 100 with a time of 13.79. Scadden also got a personal best in the Long Jump with a jump of 14’6½”. He was third in the Javelin, trying it for the first time and getting a throw of 116’5¼”. 

North Nodaway

For the girls, Addalea Barcus was seventh in the 400 with a time of 1:15.13. The Mustangs placed two in the 3200. Andrea Jenkins was seventh with a time of 15:10.20. Casey Wray was eighth with a personal best time of 16:05.03, 27 seconds better than her previous best time. The 4x400 team was fourth with a time of 5:38.12. 

Lea Hendricks got a personal best in the Shot Put with a throw of 23’6¼”. 

For the boys, Mason Casner was third in the 100 with a time of 12.23. Owen Martin was fifth in the 400 with a time of 59.43. Gannon Volner got a personal best in the 1600 with a time of 6:35.96. Jeremiah Vinzant got a personal best in the 3200 with a time of 13:01.65, over a minute and a half better than his previous best time. 

Jordan DeLeon was eighth in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 51.45. The 4x400 team was fifth with a time of 4:16.38. The 4x800 team was fifth with a time of 12:13.46. 

The Mustangs placed two in the High Jump. Owen Martin was second with a personal best height of 5’8”. Jordan DeLeon was fourth with a personal best height of 5’6”. 

The Mustangs placed two in the Long Jump. Mason Casher was third with a personal best jump of 18’5¾”. Aydan Blackford was fifth with a jump of 18 feet, also a personal best. Roger Wolf got a personal best in the Discus with a throw of 53’11¾”.
