Tiger 4x400 Team Wins Gladstone Memorial; Boys 2nd, Girls 7th at GRC; Gerken Makes Another Leap in Hurdles for Shamrocks, Gibson 2nd in Triple Jump

Worth County’s boys won the 4x400, taking home the Bill Gladstone Memorial Trophy Tuesday, May 2nd. The boys were second and the girls seventh as both teams fought a loaded field. 

For the girls, South Harrison and Putnam County ran away with the meet. South Harrison had 121 and Putnam County had 114. Princeton had 66.5, Maysville 63, Gallatin 52, Pattonsburg 49, Worth County 45, Trenton 41, St. Joseph Christian 40, North Andrew 37, Albany 29, Polo 27, Stanberry 17, King City 16, and North Harrison 1. 

For the boys, Putnam County had 122, running away with the meet. Worth County had 74, Milan 67, Polo 64, Albany 61, Princeton 57, Trenton 52, King City 46, Maysville 43, North Andrew 42, Stanberry 36, South Harrison 36, North Harrison 13, Gallatin 12, and St. Joseph Christian 2. 

For the girls, Emma Spencer was fifth in the 100 with a time of 13.41. The girls got two personal bests in the 200 as ZeeAnna Gladstone got a time of 31.08, around four tenths of a second better than her previous time, and Katie Fletchall took a half second off and got 32.00. Brylea Paxson was eighth in the 1600 with a time of 6:34.49. 

Riley Ridge got a personal best in the 100 Hurdles and got a time of 18.52. 

The 4x100 team of Brooklyn Richardson, Riley Ridge, Rayleigh Smith, and Emma Spencer was fourth with a time of 55.85. 

Riley Ridge was fifth in the High Jump with a height of 4’9”. Eva Engel was second in the Pole Vault with a height of 8’11¾”. Emma Spencer was sixth in the Long Jump with a jump of 13’9¼”. ZeeAnna Gladstone was seventh in the Triple Jump with a jump of 29’1½”. 

Kara-Jean Staton was fourth in the Shot Put with a throw of 31 feet. Staton was fifth in the Discus with a throw of 100’6”. Ali Brown was sixth with a throw of 94’9½”. Brown was third in the Javelin with a throw of 113 feet. 

The boys got two personal bests in the 100. Lucas Frisch was eighth with a time of 11.87. Brayden Stevens got a personal best with a time of 12.46. Both took over three tenths of a second off their time. The Tigers placed two in the 400 as Levi Cassavaugh was second with a time of 54.06 and Ethan Frese was eighth with a time of 58.93. 

The Tigers got two personal bests in the 110 Hurdles as John Galanakis finished second with a time of 17.23, almost seven tenths of a second off his previous time. Brayden Combs also got a personal best with a time of 19.76, breaking the 20 second barrier. Lucas Frisch was seventh in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 49.13. 

The 4x100 team of Levi Cassavaugh, Brayden Stevens, John Galanakis, and Lucas Frisch came close to a personal best and finished fourth with a time of 47.55. The 4x200 team of Tyler New, John Galanakis, Landon Moser, and Levi Cassavaugh was fifth with a time of 1:38.92. The highlight of the day was the 4x400 team winning the Bill Gladstone Memorial Relay. The team of Lucas Frisch, Ethan Frese, Tyler New, and Levi Cassavaugh won by over four seconds, getting a time of 3:49.10 and leaving all the bigger schools in the dust. 

Brayden Combs was sixth in the Pole Vault with a height of 8’6¼”. Landon Moser was seventh in the Long Jump with a jump of 16’9¼”. Tyler New was fifth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 36 feet. 

Jase Latham was second in the Shot Put with a throw of 47’1¼”. Elias Alarcon was fourth with a personal best throw of 39’8¾”. Alarcon got a season best in the Discus with a throw of 127 feet, good for fourth place.  Tyler New was second in the Javelin with a throw of 137’6½”.

North Harrison

For the girls, the Shamrocks got two personal bests in the 100. Erica Gerken took six tenths of a second off her time and finished with a time of 14.37. Halle Morgan got a personal best time of 14.90. 

Erica Gerken kept improving on her time in the 100 Hurdles, and she broke the 19 second barrier as she got eighth with a time of 18.35. That was over seven tenths of a second better than her previous best time. 

For the boys, Griffin Dougherty got a season best in the 100 with a time of 14.43.  Noah Breshears got a personal best in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 19.86. 

The 4x200 team of Tyson Gibson, Evan Schreiber, Noah Breshears, and Kolton Graham was eighth with a time of 1:43.99, a personal best. 

Tyson Gibson was sixth in the High Jump with a jump of 5’5”. He was second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 41’1¾”. Owan Roberson was eighth in the Javelin with a personal best throw of 112’9½”.
