North Harrison’s track teams competed in the district track meet at Glasgow (MO) Saturday.
For the girls, Princeton ran away with it, doubling up their next closest competitor with 131.5 points. Pattonsburg had 65, Meadville 57, Newtown-Harris 48, Polo 47, Novinger 45, Linn County 44, East Harrison 34.5, Braymer 33, Gilman City 29, Southwest Livingston 24, Tina-Avalon 23, Green City 20, Tri-County 17, Mercer 16, North Harrison 7, Hale 7, and North Daviess 5.
For the boys, Newtown-Harris had 134.5, Green City 110, Braymer 74, Princeton 72, Polo 65, Tina-Avalon 61, Meadville 49, Gilman City 37, Tri-County 29, Southwest Livingston 23, North Harrison 21.5, Hale 9, Mercer 8, Novinger 8, Linn County 7, and East Harrison 4.
The Shamrocks placed two in the 100 Hurdles. Erica Gerken was fifth with a time of 18.64. Kira Robertson got a personal best in the prelims with a time of 20.82 and then finished eighth with a time of 21.27. Kira Robertson was seventh in the Long Jump with a jump of 13’10½”. That mark was a personal best. Lily Shovick got a personal best in the Javelin with a throw of 74’6”.
For the boys, Griffin Dougherty got a season best in the 100 with a time of 14.31. Noah Brashears was seventh in the 110 Hurdles with a personal best time of 19.64, saving his best for last.
The 4x200 team of Tyson Gibson, Evan Schreiber, Noah Breshears, and Kolton Graham got a personal best and came tantalizingly close to qualifying, getting fifth with a time of 1:42.16. That was .34 of a second off the qualifying mark.
Tyson Gibson qualified in two events. The first was when he qualified in the High Jump with a height of 5’8”. The second was when he won the Triple Jump with a jump of 42’11¾”. His numbers had been tailing off since the middle of the season, but he found his second wind in time for districts.
Dillon Hartschen got a personal best in the Shot Put with a throw of 30’11”. Kolton Graham got a personal best in the Javelin with a throw of 106’3”.
