Junior High Tigers Edged Out in Three Way Race; Girls Third in Tarkio

Worth County’s junior high boys finished third in a tight three way race for first place, while the girls were also third.

For the girls, Rock Port had 99, East Atchison 71, Worth County 59.5, Albany 57.5, Nodaway Valley 55, Mound City 41, St. Gregory’s 41, South Holt 33, Platte Valley 4, and North Nodaway 3.

For the boys, Nodaway Valley had 89. Rock Port had 85, Worth County 83, East Atchison 48, Platte Valley 42, South Holt 35, Mound City 32, Albany 29, and North Nodaway 22.

For the girls, Sumer Riley was sixth in the 100 with a time of 15.39. Riley was also sixth in the 200 with a time of 32.75. Laura Hansen got a personal best with a time of 40.97. Kristen Tracy got a personal best in the 800 by over four seconds and finished fifth with a time of 2:57.64. 

Kristen Tracy got a personal best in the 100 Hurdle prelims with a time of 18.80 and finished third with a time of 18.96 in the finals. Kambree Briner got a personal best time of 19.64 in the prelims and finished fifth with a time of 20.04. 

The 4x100 was second with a personal best time of 56.33. The 4x200 was second with a personal best time of 2:03.17. The 4x400 was fifth with a time of 5:11.05. All three relay teams got their best time of the year so far.

Kambree Briner got a second personal best in the High Jump, where she finished tied for sixth with a height of 4 feet.

Sara Fletchall got a personal best in the Pole Vault and won with a height of 7’6¼”. Megan Tracy was sixth with a height of 5’6¼”. Sumer Riley was second in the Long Jump with a personal best jump of 12’10¼”. Audrey Runde was fifth in the Triple Jump with a personal best jump of 27 feet. 

Kristen Tracy was second in the Discus with a personal best throw of 79’1½”. That beat her old mark by over nine feet. And Emslee Spainhower improved her mark by over seven feet, getting a personal best throw of 56’4”. 

For the boys, Bo Collins won the 100 with a time of 12.08. Bo got his second first place finish in the 200 with a time of 24.90. Cole Ruby was sixth in the 400 with a time of 1:05.43. Wesley Brown got a personal best in the 800 with a time of 3:27.48. He has improved his time by 30 seconds since the season started and took another six seconds off at Tarkio. 

The Tigers placed two in the 100 Hurdles. Cole Ruby won with a time of 17.76. Dylan Smith was fourth with a time of 19.25. 

The 4x100 team was third with a time of 54.06. The 4x200 team got a personal best and was fourth with a time of 1:55.10. The 4x400 team started off the year at 4:56, improved rapidly to 4:43.13, hit a plateau, but then knocked six more seconds off their time at Tarkio for a sixth place finish of 4:37.05. 

Hayden Sanders was third in the Pole Vault with a personal best 8’5½”. Bentley Frisch matched a personal best with a height of 6 feet. Caleb New was sixth in the Triple Jump with a jump of 31 feet. 

Bo Collins won his third event in the Shot Put with a throw of 42’11¾”. Ethan Lininger got fourth with a personal best throw of 36’1”. Bo Collins completed the hat trick by winning the Discus with a throw of 144’6¾”. Lininger was third with a throw of 128’7”. 

North Nodaway

Pyper Smith got a season best in the 1600 with a time of 8:00.13. She matched a personal best in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 23.59. The 4x100 was fifth with a personal best time of 1:02.33. The 4x200 got a personal best time of 2:13.65. The 4x400 team was fifth with a personal best time of 5:15.01. All three relay teams got a personal best for the year so far.

Trynzlee Ebrecht got a personal best in the Triple Jump with a jump of 21’7½”. That was five feet better than her previous mark. Nevaeh Rowland got a personal best in the Shot Put with a throw of 15’10½”. Jenayeah Howard got a personal best in the Discus of 48’1¼, an improvement of almost 10 feet.

For the boys, Ridge Clements was fourth in the 100 with a time of 13.05. Ridge got a personal best in the 200 prelims with a time of 27.12 and finished sixth with a time of 28.35. Ridge was third in the 400 with a time of 1:03.60. Ty Moyer got a season best in the 800 with a time of 2:55.48. Connor Pearson took four seconds off his time and was sixth in the 1600 with a time of 6:46.52. 

Jackson Keho got a personal best in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 21.78. Ridge Clements won the Long Jump with a jump of 16’10¾”. Keho got a personal best in the Triple Jump by almost four feet with a jump of 27’6¾”.

The Mustangs got two personal bests in the Shot Put. Tommy Stringer got a personal best throw of 18’10½” while Wyatt Emery got a personal best throw of 17’8½”. Emery improved his mark in the Discus by over three feet with a throw of 50’2¾”.
