Worth County Junior High Sweeps Home Quad; Shamrock Boys Mount Strong Challenge

Worth County’s track teams swept their home quad meet Monday, May 1st, but the North Harrison boys gave Worth County a run for their money.

For the girls, Worth County had 98.5. Albany had 60, North Harrison 35.5, and King City 20. For the boys, Worth County had 85, North Harrison 67, King City 40, and Albany 22.

For the girls, three Tigers placed in the 100 and four got personal bests. Sumer Riley won and got a personal best of 14.10, .41 of a second better than her previous mark. Keira Hardy was second with a time of 14.30. Addie Gray was fourth with a personal best time of 14.51. Sara Fletchall got a personal best time of 15.76. Bree Ray got a personal best of 18.45.

The Tigers placed three in the 200. Sumer Riley was second with a time of 30.92. Addison Gray was third with a time of 31.34, and Keira Hardy was fourth with a time of 31.77.

Megan Tracy was 2nd in the 400 with a time of 1:18.53. Kristen Tracy won the 800 with a time of 3:10.19. Kristen got a season best in the 1600 with a winning time of 7:12.20. 

Kristen Tracy won the 100 Hurdles with a personal best time of 18.22. She has improved all year, bettering her time by three seconds. Audrey Runde tried her hand at it and the Tigers may have found a new hurdler as she got third with a time of 18.57. 

The 4x100 team won with a time of 59.78. The 4x200 was second with a time of 2:09.27. 

Alivia Moyer tied for first in the High Jump with a jump of 3’11¼”. Kambree Briner tied for third, also with a jump of 3’11¼”. Sara Fletchall won the Pole Vault with a height of 7 feet. Megan Tracy was tied for second with a height of 6’6¾”, a personal best. Kambree Briner tried her hand at it and tied for fourth with a height of 5’7”. 

Sumer Riley won the Long Jump with a personal best jump of 13’1½”. Addison Gray was fourth with a height of 11’6¼”. 

Megan Tracy tried her hand at the Triple Jump and was second with a jump of 25’6¾”. Alivia Moyer was third with a jump of 25’5”. Audrey Runde was fourth, also with a jump of 25’5”. 

 Kristen Tracy won the Discus with a throw of 78’10½”. Emslee Spainhower was fifth with a throw of 48’10½”. 

For the boys, Bo Collins won the 100 with a time of 12.14. He also won the 200 with a time of 24.99. Dylan Smith was fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:09.92. The Tigers were 1-2 in the 100 Hurdles with Cole Ruby winning with a time of 19.35 and Dylan Smith second with a time of 19.39. 

The 4x100 team was second with a time of 56.17. The 4x200 was second with a time of 1:57.23. The 4x400 won with a time of 4:56.91.

Maverick Cox was third in the High Jump, matching a personal best with a height of 4’7”. Hayden Sanders won the Pole Vault with a height of 8 feet. Bentley Frisch matched a personal best and finished second with a height of 7 feet. 

The Tigers placed two in the Long Jump. Hayden Sanders was fourth with a jump of 14’1¼”. Cole Ruby was fifth with a jump of 13 feet. 

Two more Tigers placed in the Triple Jump. Caleb New was second with a jump of 30’8”. Dylan Smith was fourth with a jump of 29’9”. 

The Tigers placed three in the Shot Put. Bo Collins won with a throw of 42’4¼”. Ethan Lininger was second with a throw of 32’6¼”. Wesley Brown was fourth with a throw of 26’1¾”. 

Bo Collins nearly replicated his Discus throw from the Tiger Relays with a throw of 166’4½”. Ethan Lininger was second with a throw of 117’8½”. Caleb New was third with a throw of 80’4½”. 

North Harrison

Lani Briggs got a personal best in the 100 with a time of 15.55. Peyton Kerr got another personal best with a time of 16.43. The Shamrocks also got two personal bests in the 200. Jaxcynn Hansel got a time of 31.83, while Peyton Kerr got a personal best time of 35.45. 

Hali Smith won the 400 with a time of 1:14.50. Two other Shamrocks got personal bests. Peyton Kerr got a personal best time of 1:30.47, while Lily Lane got a personal best time of 1:40.07. In the 100 Hurdles, Smith got fourth with a personal best time of 19.59. 

The 4x100 team was third with a time of 1:04.03. The 4x200 team was third with a time of 2:16.74. The 4x400 team was second with a time of 5:31.71. 

Gracie Young was tied for first in the High Jump with a height of 3’11¼. Peyton Kerr got a personal best and a fifth place finish with a height of 3’11¼”. Hali Smith tried her hand at the Pole Vault and tied for fourth with a height of 5’7”. Young got a personal best in the Long Jump and finished second with a jump of 12’11”. Addison Milligan got a personal best with a jump of 10’4”. 

Jaxcynn Hansel was second in the Discus with a throw of 59’11”. 

For the boys, Lane Graham and Wyatt Maize gave Bo Collins all he could handle in the 100 but came up short. Graham got a personal best with 12.94, good enough for a second place finish. Wyatt Maize tried it for the first time and finished third with a time of 12.96. The duo was no match for Collins in the 200, but they both got personal bests. Maize was second with a time of 27.06, while Graham was third with a time of 27.14. They had better luck in the 400; Maize won with a time of 1:00.96 while Graham was second with a time of 1:02.75.

Tate Richardson won the 800 with a time of 2:37.13. Ryker Fortner, only a sixth grader, finished third with a time of 2:47.10. Lance Jacobs got a personal best with a time of 3:25.20, six seconds better than his previous best time. Richardson won the 1600 as well with a time of 6:16.88. Cole Hartschen was third with a time of 7:06.11. 

The 4x400 was second with a time of 5:28.87.

Tate Richardson was second in the High Jump with a height of 4’9”. Landon Johnson was fourth with a height of 4’5¼”. 

Wyatt Maize won the Long Jump with a jump of 16’6”. Lane Graham was second with a jump of 16’3¼”. The two pushed each other throughout the day, finishing neck and neck in all four of their events. 

Tate Richardson was third in the Triple Jump with a jump of 30’1¾”.
