Robert Earl “Bob” Stutesman left this earth to eternally rejoice in the presence of his Creator on February 1, 2021, in Grant City, Missouri. Robert was born January 10, 1939, in Blockton, Iowa, to Clyde and Grace (Merckling) Stutesman. He spent his childhood in Isadora with his parents and siblings, enjoying farm life.
As an adult, Robert was proud to serve in the United States Marine Corps, and later enjoyed his extensive career as a mechanic for TWA Airlines (now American Airlines). Robert was married to the late Jeanette Smith and had a son, Robert Wayne Stutesman. Robert later married Glenna Hardy, in 1986, and enjoyed many years together in their home in Overland Park, Kansas, before retiring and returning to Grant City, Missouri.
During his life, Robert enjoyed woodworking, history, and his many projects. Most importantly, he cherished spending time with family members and his precious grandchildren. Treasured memories of time spent with “Grandpa Bob” were made during four-wheeler rides, driving lessons, and weekend visits. Robert also had two four-legged sidekicks that brought him great company and joy in day-to-day life, his dogs Missy and Mei Ling.
Robert attended the First Assembly of God Church in Grant City and lived his life with Jesus in his heart. He was filled with eternal hope supplied by his Savior and now rests in the comfort and care of God.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and first wife. He is survived by his sister, Twila (Alan) Holtan and family; brother, Clark Stutesman and family; brother, Clyde Alan (Ann) Stutesman; wife, Glenna; child, Robert Stutesman, Jr.; child, Tina (Rob) Washburn; child, Chris (Liza) Adams; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held later this year. Arrangements are under direction of Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri.
