Two Injured in Accident South of Maryville

Two people were injured in an accident five miles south of Maryville Thursday. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that a 2011 Hyundai Sonata was northbound on Route H and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Route V and H. The Sonata skidded across Route V and struck an embankment and began overturning. The vehicle came to rest in the ditch off the west side facing northwest. The driver, William House, 70, of Grandview, MO received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. A passenger, Natalie House Griswell, 51, of Raytown, MO received moderate injuries and was also taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. Both occupants were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The Sonata was totaled and was towed from the scene.
