Corn Fungicide Application during Drought

The corn fungicide results at the Graves Chapple Research Center have been analyzed.  Headline fungicide was applied to four different corn hybrids. The rate of application was 9 ounces per acre and applied with twenty four gallons of water as carrier.

In our tests, corn yields were high because of timely rains.  However, the conditions outside the rain events persisted throughout the season. Our results with all four hybrids did not indicate any significant difference between the fungicide and the untreated checks. Each hybrid was an individual test. The results from our tests indicate that fungicides do not improve drought tolerance. That does not mean that other tests and other results may differ.
