Alice LaVonne (Thompson) Miller died Wednesday, November 28,
2012 at the Worth County Convalescent.Center. Alice was born on October 10,
1924 in Lamoni, Iowa to John A. and Alma (Lynch) Thompson. Alice was a member
of the Lotts Grove Baptist Church.
She married Doyle
M. Miller on July 3, 1947. To this union four children were born. Cynthia
(Mike) Folwer of Independence, MO, Joseph (Rosemary) Miller of Leon, Iowa, Debra
(Gary) Kinder of Maryville, MO, and Nancy (Kelly) Parkhurst of Eagleville, Mo.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and their spouses, and 14
great-grandchildren.
Alice was
preceded in death by her parents John and Alma Thompson, husband Doyle Miller,
grandson Melvin Miller, sisters Mildred Walling, and Ethel Chadwick; brothers
David Thompson, John D. Thompson, Paul Thompson, Dick Thompson and Lynden
Thompson.
Alice is also
survived by sister Margaret Locke of Grant City, MO, brother Howard (Evelyn)
Thompson of Davis City, Iowa and sisters-in-law Madge Gowing of West Branch,
Iowa, Joyce Thompson of Grant City, MO, Marge Thompson of Lamoni, Iowa,
Margaret Thompson of Manchester, GA and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alice taught
school in both Allendale and Hatfield communities. After her teaching career
ended, she worked along side her husband on the family farm which quickly
became her passion. She was very active in various community activities. Family
was her first love. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and
grandmother.
The family
visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 1, 2012 with services to
follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, MO. Burial
will be in the Kirk Cemetery in Allendale, MO.

may be given to Kirk Cemetery.
