The Yetter Building was torn down Sunday by Claypool Construction. The City of Grant City had condemned the building. The demolition is the end for one of the most iconic and historic buildings in Grant City. There are now only three buildings that remain on the west side of the square – the former Hy-Vee building, the late Granny Glenn’s Hole in the Wall, and Val Francom’s building, the same building where Glenn Miller learned to play his trombone. The building just to the north of the Hy-Vee building collapsed last year while the ones on the northwest side were destroyed in a fire.

As one of the last businesses to be in that building. It is sad that an old frkend bites the dust. Farewell it was fun while it lasted.
